Maybe, at least. You can certainly imagine how a tumor putting pressure on your lower spine would f*** with a lot of things, including your legs.

Holy s***. That sucks. Get better Melky. Hopefully you can contribute next year but just get healthy.

Maybe now we can trade him, blame the tumor and send him to Kansas City.

Not a terrible idea.

Try to get like, Felipe Paulino and one of Jarrod Dyson / Lorenzo Cain for Melky and some arm.

My wife has bad back pain....she's in good shape but her discs bulge giving pain down through her legs. A tumor pressing on your lower spine would cause the same pain. Many say Melky sucked because he didn't have steroids....He was never healthy and fought through pain all year. This definitely effected his play. He could be a wildcard if he comes to spring training and is healthy. He could potentially bring a lot to the team.

It was a benign tumor, it is nothing serious.

yeah it's not life threatening, but it definitely could have caused pain and effected his play. What exactly do you know about chronic back pain?

I'm sure he has read up on it on some medical research sites, but don't expect any links for them. :)

The thing that irritates the f*** out of me is that it's only now that Melky has told the team about his back pains and he's said it's actually been bothering him for four months. This could have been diagnosed much sooner. Not only did this cost the team but it's very fortunate for him that it's benign. This could have had life altering consequences for him.

Players seriously need to stop doing this. Hiding injuries is not only counter-productive and dishonest but it's potentially very dangerous for their health.

I heard AA talk about it, he said Melky was saying his back been bothering him all the time and they decided to do back MRI and found it and removed it. So hard to say when he said something about it.

Melky didn't tell the team until he was rehabbing on his latest injury according to AA, and when he told them finally, he said it had been bothering him since 4 months prior. That's what AA said in the interview anyhow

He had an MRI done in the first half of the season when he was complaining about leg pains. This wasn't there then??? (When radiologists do a CT or MRI they don't just scan the part that hurts, they almost always look further)
