Oh, when the tweet isn't expanded you can't see the part at the bottom.

Yeah, you're right, I got trolled by Monster.

Came up on the feed like this:

What? I never said I thought it was a good call to throw it in that spot. I was referring to the crazy catch. Just saying it would've been brutal as well to lose because of another circus catch.

I know that, and I'm saying that even if Kearse dropped it, Hawks had enough time to still win the game.

Yeah, but come on, being at the 5 with 1:06 to go gives you better odds than being at the 38 on 2nd down and 10.

My point was also in the context of how the Patriots were been beaten in their 2 SB losses against the Giants where I remember some pretty darn good catches as well.

It should also be noted that Pete Carrol probably didn't call that play at the end of the game. Ultimately it's still on Carrol to veto the call but Bevell likely made the call to throw the ball.

Any chance of actually getting in on this, or no?

11 was the winner. I had 10...stupid knowing that odd scores have a slight edge cost me.

Was with a guy that had a largish bet on the over and NE. So that ending was pretty fun. Carroll coaches the same way all the time. He's going to take the statistical edge no matter the situation. I think he also thought he'd have more time to think it over, as NE should have been calling a Timeout there. Overall entertaining game.

The no timeout by NE was really weird. Everyone was wondering if they were just going to let the Hawks waltz into the end zone but if they we're going to do that, they needed to use the timeout. Pretty gutsy of Belichick to apparently just go for the defensive stop instead. If NE doesn't pull it off, that would have no doubt been the most talked about coaching decision of the game. I wonder if Belichick anticipated that Seattle might do something dumb there?

He said so in the post-game, right? I just took that with a grain of salt. It's bad form to throw your staff under the bus after a loss (and a SB loss to boot). Then again, Carroll's not infallible, so he could very well have made the call too, so.

Some coaches might do that but Carroll probably isn't one of them. Unlike most coaches, he actually appears to be a genuinely likeable human being who really cares about people. I can't see him throwing his coach under the bus and it's kind of a moot point anyways. He's the head coach, he's ultimately responsible.

Also if you have a hard on for throwing the ball in that situation. Throw a back shoulder fade to the massive Chris Matthews. Matthews either goes up and catches it (like he was doing all game) or it goes out of bounds, clock stops and you have 2 attempts to get 1 yard from Lynch.

DB's jump slants all the time. Also it's not uncommon on a short slant to have the ball deflected. Obviously the talk about firing him his crazy as he just made back to back superbowls but this will go down as one of the dumber play calls in superbowl history.

Looking at it Butler made a very very good play..... He hesitates for one second it is a touchdown. It was a bad call but that being said he made a really really great read to get into that position.

This is my opinion on what happened. Think about what would happen if Lynch punches it in for the game winner. 100 + Yds and 2 TDs? Marshawn Lynch would be your Superbowl MVP. Which, of course, would be a disaster because of Lynch's toxic relationship with the Media and the NFL. Somebody made the call to throw to avoid Lynch making a mockery of the NFL. And oh boy, would he have.

WTH? Are you saying that someone at the league called Carrol and ordered him not to give the ball to Lynch? All this while the play clock was running? Or are you saying that the Seahawks care more about embarassing the league than making the right call to win the game? Odds are this never even crossed anyone's mind. Heck, I bet this didn't even cross your mind until this morning.

It occurred to me last night. The theoretical call could have come from anywhere at anytime. With the clock ticking down, anytime on the last drive, maybe even before the game something was said to someone. who knows.

Manziel enters rehab facility.

He'll be out of the league after this year.

I don't know. Maybe. It's impressive at 22 he can admit he needs help with whatever addiction he's going through. Dude has talent if he can clean himself up he has potential.

Does he have NFL talent though? His game is a college style of game. That scramble crap isn't going to work in the bigs. His arm strength isn't that good and he doesn't appear to be overly intelligent.

A.K.A RG3... Give me a Andrew Luck, Manning, Brees, Brady any day of the week. You have to be able to throw in this league. Running is just a bonus but you can't rely on it.

I would agree with you if this was the NFL of 5 years ago. He wouldn't have even been drafted in the first 5 rounds. The NFL is more of a spread game now then ever before with all the new rules. I think his skill set plays in today's game which favors spread passing attacks and mobile QB's.

What is his skillset? He's a small, weak armed, inaccurate running QB that doesn't even have elite speed.
