Tampa had a much better roster, especially on defense and Brady and Gronk were much bigger upgrades in TB than they would have been with LV. I'm usually more on the side of Boxy in these instances but these allegations seem far stronger than the other ones we've seen. Far stronger than the ones against Bauer, for example. In addition to some articles I've read which summarize her lawsuit, her lawyer has also posted a bunch of things to his twitter account. Now this is all coming from her side. It's possible he never even had sex with her and that she's making it up and that it was others there and not him. She claims he admitted to having sex with her in her suit though.

 

 

I think you've got to take him off the field at this point. If he is innocent I feel for the guy, and if he's not he deserves to rot in a jail cell. And this really is beside the point and even somewhat awful for me to mention as it shouldn't matter, but the guy is a flipping punter for crying out loud. I don't care how good he is. He's not worth the trouble that he's about to bring down upon the team.

Well I read the NFL CBA prevents him from being disciplined. I’m not sure if the team can for the same reason, per-draft occurrences. So it would maybe have to be a cut or nothing

Clearly he said something ambiguous that she considered an admission to sex. But then the detectives wanted her to get him to specifically admit it, he sensed it and became evasive .

 

Now you can use your instinct to say if looks like it was stat rape, but there is no facts from that. That’s why a case wasn’t made

I don't really understand the moving the goalpost argument. I don't know how old she was, I'll take you at your word she was 17. I'm not even arguing that a 21 year old f***ing a 17 old is legal, I don't really know. I'm not arguing that a sober (or more sober) person can't rape someone who is intoxicated.

 

I AM arguing that people of similar ages shouldn't be considered statutory rape (this is an ought, not an is). (This is a theoretical statement, note related to this specific case)

The only difference is that team bias is slightly colouring my perspective because I cheered when he was drafted and I was really excited for him.

 

Even now, in his release, Beane said that they don't have all the facts but the way he phrased it kinda made it sound like they feel somewhat confident that he's innocent, but that the whole thing won't clear up any time soon so they can't have it hanging over the team.

 

I don't know though. I might end up sounding stupid, but there are some red flags to the story, like her adding him spiking her drink. When these details are added to make the story sound worse, it gives me pause. It's the thing that Amber Heard did constantly.

 

Anyway, I hope this event didn't happen, but if it did, I hope the girl recovers and that Araiza rots in hell for committing a crime only a step down from pedophilia.

Mistake of fact is a legitimate defense. A 17 year old telling everyone's he was in college isn't exactly a hard sell, especially in a place where everyone is drunk.
