JSFIP Verified Member Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I think that it's possible it could happen. Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised. You're so much smarter than the FO king. Incredible work.
JSFIP Verified Member Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Stfu Smarter Than Front sUperiors?
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Scrub = replacement level AAA depth. Injuries happen, especially with an old team and Reyes at SS. It's a good thing to have replacement level depth in the upper minors. Those guys are going to get ABs most seasons. That is also Goins current talent level, he could conceivably still improve. I don't really see a reason he wouldn't make a great bench piece even if he only hit ~70-75wRC+.
JSFIP Verified Member Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 But it's possible that they think he is serviceable for the starting 2B position and opt to go with him rather than other superior options. Stfu.

If they think he is a serviceable 2B it wont be because of this sample. AA has basically confirmed as much; “I know he’s done fairly well with the bat in a limited sample size, but I don’t know that I would put a whole lot of stock in it, because we have a whole lot of minor league time with him and we have a sense of what type of hitter he is.”

flafson Verified Member Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 When i saw the ball coming his way i had a bad feeling about it, he caught it in between hop and then it bounced off his wrist, tough luck.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Goins made an error Didn't see it What a scrub DFA At least he didn't make 3 in one game like Longoria.
Convo Verified Member Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 When i saw the ball coming his way i had a bad feeling about it, he caught it in between hop and then it bounced off his wrist, tough luck. Was a do or die play, Granderson was running hard up the line... it was one of those medium-speed bouncers, he had to charge it, catch it on an inbetween hop... he just didn't catch it cleanly enough... tough break
theblujay Verified Member Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 At least he didn't make 3 in one game like Longoria. You're back! It felt like something was missing w/o your sarcastic one line nothing posts.
Jays Verified Member Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 At least he didn't make 3 in one game like Longoria. We should trade Goins, sell him as the next Alomar.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) You're back! It felt like something was missing w/o your sarcastic one line nothing posts. Something was missing because I wasn't here to say nothing? BTW, JSFIP I can't see your posts, bro. Saw that you are the last to respond to this thread so can only assume you were talking about how I should be exiled. Edited September 18, 2013 by Boxcar

GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Not a bad swing off the lefty though. Oh yeah, beauty swing for sure. Really nice job. And I always love the silent treatment.
theblujay Verified Member Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Flashing some power! The first HR is always cool. Kinda cool when a defensive whiz hits a HR

theblujay Verified Member Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cWMRUI_7n4 Pretty cool too, but Goins is a much better defender.
theblujay Verified Member Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 There's no one else in the Jays organization even close to him right now At 2B sadly you're right.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Goins was a power hitter in high school and college, but his power stroke tailed off dramatically after he got drafted. Hmmmm.. Maybe he needs a dose of some DM cocktail.
