Preferably the BPA at 9 is an elite hitting prospect

Jackson 9 Nola 11 please

Yeah, we really could use some more guys with solid hit tools in the system

Enough with the high school pitchers for bit unless a must-draft one falls to you

Do you think Jackson falls to 9?

Probably not, but you never know. I really hope so. I don't even care if he stays at C tbh. It'd be nice, but I really like his bat and I'm sure he'd have an okay glove in RF or something.

Since 2010 this team has had 17 picks in thh 1st round (including supplemental picks)

4 position players, 13 pitchers

lol @ AA taking a position player with one of those picks.

Oh LOL

OK, so some gay-ish to gay guy who likes backup catchers??

It wouldn't be the first time a Toronto back up catcher had a following....

Of all the f***ing players why does Josh Thole have a fan club? f***, if that's the standard we're setting, Moogy deserves a fanclub too. They're of similar ability.

I dunno. Moggy's secondary pitches sound like they're all plus to plus-plus.

Yup, that's why I've been gone for a bit. Much more where that came from, the floodgates have fractured.

I doubt much changed, still work in progress.

Also, doesn't help that he only gets 2 AB's per game.

I have to admit I was one of the very few who thought he would be at least decent as a 9 hitter who would have great defense. After watching his AB's through the season so far its very clear he is in over his head and a change needs to be made somehow. Whether that be Kawaski(most likely), Diaz, or Drew (I wish).

Don't know how to put in twitter messages on here so I just copied and pasted this.

John Lott ✔ @LottOnBaseball

Ryan Goins is taking early batting practice. He is hitting a lot of line drives off Kevin Seitzer.

At least he's hitting liners off someone haha

When you put in Twitter messages, people complain that they can't read them on their TappaTalk app so you might as well copy and paste anyways.

You type [ t w e e t ] tweet number (you can find it when you check the link of the tweet, it will have a weird long number in the middle) [ / t w e e t ]

It is when you hit weak groundballs to the infield 65% of the time.

So All the ground balls he hits are weak?

He's been hitting a quit a few well struck balls for outs, another one tonight. Talk about being bias.. Wow.

Posted

His line drive rate is 12.2%. Of his 5 line drives he has 3 hits. Which is .600 babip. The avg babip on liners is .700 but thats impossible to attain on 5 line drives.

Let's say that last one was a liner, then he'd have a . 500 babip and you could make the case he's been " unlucky " and should have 1 more hit.

Hardly enough to justify a narrative of "quite a few well struck balls for outs"

Posted
Furthermore, his BABIP last year in the bigs was. 315. The numbers will eventually swing.

Yes it's likely that it will, but he'll have to actually make better contact first.

Went through this already in the goins thread.... He's not getting hugely "unlucky" for his batted ball profile. You just don't want to believe the numbers.

The numbers say he's maybe 3 hits unlucky on the season, and would have something like a .210 avg with a normalized babip.

Would you say his out tonight was well struck?
