GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 yeah that's the problem with us toronto fans. we reward people for being mediocre. There's way more Leaf fans than Jays fans.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 In 2009,a few players were whining that cito wasn't communicating with them, not holding their hand and spoon feeding them. Wow, whatever happened to being real men ? Probably it was a small minority that were disgruntled, but being the good union men they were they stuck together. Imagine a team of players that cried each time they were not penciled in, or when they got relieved by another pitcher? How successful would that team be? 2009 is when the me me culture was spawned in the blue jays club house, and it still lingers on. I wonder why its only white players Cito had problems with? Green, Olerud, Snider......odd you never hear of him trying to force Delgado to become a dead pull hitter. Or having Hitting Coaches make sure Delgado never got to use the Cages on his own or with someone Cito approved of. Its a shame Cito constantly throws out the race card when he himself has shown numerous instances of racial favouritism. The guy is a piece of s***.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 now i know why you have almost 3,000 posts in just 3+ months. you're a know-it-all stupid f***. here's an idea, you worthless prick...get off that chair and get yourself a nice little girlfriend(or boyfriend, depending on your sexuality). how about answering a post without being a total, useless dickhead for a change? i mean how old are you, 8? Lmao, adorable that this is how you react when you're completely and utterly wrong.

You're calling him a dickhead? Have you read your own posts?
mitchf Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 I absolutely love John Gibbons. He recognizes essential parts of the game that John Farrell seems unable to comprehend. It isn't his fault our team is a giant clusterf*** with questions at every other position. In regards to our pitching staff, I look more at the bullpen (before they ran out of steam) than our front 5 who would have been terrible under anybody. Now if you want to talk about Alex Anthopolous.. I have a much different opinion.
The_DH Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 Cathal Kenney wrote an article on this subject today. He thinks Gibbons deserves to stay because a manager only works the bullpen. I don't agree with him. I've seen some great managers. Gibbons is not one of them.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 is that all you can do, boy? cry to the mods? you started it and i finished it. i don't like know-it-alls. Lol. You finished it? Okay. "Sure." I wouldn't be giving yourself so much credit, boy.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 are you all his bodyguards? he can't defend himself? he reported my post, meaning he chose the easy way out. so yes. i did finish it in a sense. I'm just an onlooker, and found your post(s) to be undeservedly self-fellating, so I couldn't resist myself to comment. That's all.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 i don't like you, you don't like me. so let's just stay out of each other's way. how's that? don't reply to my posts and i won't reply to yours. based on that logic and the 15 reported posts against you already no one likes you...so does that mean you'll stay out of everyone's way?

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Why bother with anything logical hurl, just ban the guy and let us all get back to actual baseball conversation

The_DH Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 Read through the posts, it was about 4 posts in where somebody wanted me hit by a ball. If you ban this guy then keep on banning.
oakville69 Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Zaun said that Gibby may not be the right guy to manage this roster & will probably be the scapegoat & fired at the end of the season. Very Sad News.

Very Sad News. only sad in that Beeston and AA will still be here and we may have to hear another off season of "who should manage". I have zero problem with Gibby as a manager but I don't really care who manages the team

I have zero problem with Gibby as a manager but I don't really care who manages the team I have a feeling Hale would take over immediately and we probably wouldn't be subjected to yet another meaningless search.
oakville69 Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 I have a feeling Hale would take over immediately and we probably wouldn't be subjected to yet another meaningless search. How would Hale be an improvement over Gibby? I can't recall any interview that Hale has given to the media this year.

I didn't say he would be? The team interviewed him for managerial roles twice, I think. If Gibby ends up gone I think that's who takes over.
frizzer1 Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Look,no manager would have won with this team.....but having said that,it seems that many people don't think a manager is responsible for much, if anything, that goes on ....ie the players have to play well, the manager can't hit for them etc. So why even have a manager? Let the pitching coach manage the pitchers and the hitting coach run the offense..
oakville69 Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 I didn't say he would be? The team interviewed him for managerial roles twice, I think. If Gibby ends up gone I think that's who takes over. OK, but what would he do differently than Gibby? He seems like a blank slate.
fapaholic Verified Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Wow! Guess I missed some epic stuff in this thread. While I don't blame Gibbons for this entire season, he was not someone I really wanted as manager either. That being said, ultimately his fate should be decided by a totally new upper management team. Everyone from Beeston to AA needs to be gone now!!! Sadly it won't happen.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 OK, but what would he do differently than Gibby? He seems like a blank slate. Why are you asking me this? I'm not advocating we hire Hale; it's what I believe will happen based on past events.

Sure, cito gives snider playing time and somehow he's giving snider problems. Hurdle doesn't have a problem with snider, he just keeps him on the bench which is where he is best suited to help the team.
