digiblader Verified Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Shi Davidi: Gibbons say elbow injury for Juan Perez " doesn't look good." Will need to go on DL and pitcher brought up. Likely a long man like Thad Weber--or even possibly Marcus Stroman, moving Esmil Rogers to the pen.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Rogers to the pen, Nolin/Stroman/Hutchison/Drabek to the rotation would be purty.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Relievers get hurt, yes they're human AA......
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 ftfy I just want to win our Drabek/Stults bet, whatever that was.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 That Drabek's best season would be better than Stults'. Stults is already at 2.6 WAR this year lol. You're f***ed. Oh f*** me. I might as well just send you that $20 any time now lol. I feel bad for Perez. But nobody was expecting anything from him. He was a nice suprise for awhile though. Relievers come and go. Bring up the Stro Show. I want him in MLB The Show next year. OSFM, brah.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Rogers has lost 5 consecutive starts
KSaw Verified Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Rogers has lost 5 consecutive starts Too many innings. He shouldn't be starting anymore this year. Would like to see Weber get a few starts so that he can be better evaluated. By no means call up Stroman. Don't need him taking up a 40-man roster spot during the offseason or wasting an option in April.
KSaw Verified Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Btw it will be Redmond. That's very likely.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Good thing they held onto this guy at the deadline!
Muck Bartinez Verified Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Good thing they held onto this guy at the deadline! This is true. Cecil, Delabar, Loup, etc. have all come back to earth. On the flip side, a pretty good lefty reliever in Scott Downs gets you Cory Rasmus, so it's hard to imagine the Jays getting any significant value back in a trade. I'm still surprised Oliver wasn't dealt for a D prospect/cash, but I can sort of understand hanging on to some of these guys if there's just no market for them.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Perez the first casualty of overworked bullpen . Probably not the last Please don't waste an option on any more guys . Why would we do that . The waste of Nolin,s option year still pisses me off . These guys aren't ready . If anyone comes up it may as well be Nolin . We already blew his option

We already blew his option Perez is older than dirt. I respect your opinion Ken but you can't be serious? Nolin might be a mid rotation guy at best but the reality is he will struggle to be a long man. That's the likely scenerio.

That's the likely scenerio.[/quote Vik , I give a s*** about Perez , AA should have moved every BP piece he could but I,m saying our whole Bullpen has been overworked and that usually means a few injuries . As for Nolin IF they bring up any of the kids in August then Nolin,s option for this year is already blown (Stupidly I might add ) I,m not suggesting he go into the BP . He would take Rogers place in the rotation. Posters want to bring up Stroman or Hutch or Drabek and blow an option year on them for what ? 2 starts . That is stupidity . Personally I would call up Redmond and put Rogers back in to the BP Edited August 10, 2013 by kgm1
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Storey, no Stroman/Nolin/Hutchison call up
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 So, does this team set a record for TJS? That's 4 in two years.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 That delivery was unsustainable
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Nobody in the pen is being overworked because they've been using eight relievers all season. Only guy might be Loup. Hard to say that Cecil has been overworked when he's been a SP for so long.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Only guy might be Loup. Hard to say that Cecil has been overworked when he's been a SP for so long. I'd think Delabar has an argument. 3rd most innings (49.2), 13 more than the next guy (Oliver), and he's got screws and a plate in his arm.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Santos actually doing something would be nice.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Delabar's on pace for 69.2 innings and by my count has only worked back-back days seven times. Pretty typical for a set-up guy IMO. Loup's on pace for 80.2 innings, which is getting up for there a guy who averages just over an inning per outing. And he's thrown 30+ pitches twice after working the previous day. I'd definitely back him off a bit and use Oliver more. Santos will help too if he can get into set-up form. When your SP suck then you bullpen suffer. The next year the jays will depent less of their bullpen (improving the rotation)

flafson Verified Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 The rotation was suppose to be elite this year, didn't really work even after we depleted the farm to do so...
Save Dtieb Verified Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Does anyone have video of the Juan Perez injury? I haven't seen it, did it look bad?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Juan "no way he's going anywhere" Perez
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I hope Johnson feels better about himself. That **** cost Perez the rest of his career.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Does anyone have video of the Juan Perez injury? I haven't seen it, did it look bad? Not really. He kind of lightly shook his arm a few times.
