Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 These player only commentary games are really awful.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 76’s not fooling around. Harris is a nice piece to land.

TRM Verified Member Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 I still dont see the 76ers making it out of the 2nd round. I think they'd lose to the Raps/Celts, but beat the Bucks. I also think it's possible they become the new Wizards. Tons of talent and unwarranted confidence, but never amount to anything when it counts.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Raps sell a 2nd rounder, Richardson, and rights to Preldzic for cash. Weird deal unless they're freeing up cash for another deal.

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Strange that the 76ers would be a willing partner in the deal too.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Lol, the Bucks just put up 50 points in the first quarter...
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Raps gotta make a move today.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Raps gotta make a move today. Looks like Gasol to the Raps
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 For JV? That would make no sense at all IMO
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Not sure I like this deal. JV, Wright and CJ.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 And a 2nd, which doesn’t matter much I guess
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Hmmm... well I guess Gasol is a more consistent scorer and rebounder than JV. I haven't really examined the salary considerations. Ditching CJ's contract is a considerable plus, losing Delon doesn't move the needle for me. This is probably a solid upgrade for this year's playoff run.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I think it's a good trade. I assume JV and MG opt out and will become FA. Delon is a RFA but losing him doesn't matter much, especially when he's going to be getting a raise. CJ will opt in so shedding the 8 million is a good thing. Getting a 2nd is a bonus. As for this year, MG isn't a huge upgrade over JV but he plays almost double the minutes so in a sense he kind of is. So we get better for the playoff run this year, and look better next year by shedding 8 mil and gaining a 2nd. Not sure why Memphis did this? They must like Delon?

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I don't like this. A 34 year old Gasol for JV, Delon, z Miles, and a 2nd? My gut doesn't like this
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I guess this takes us out of the AD sweepstakes, unless Ibaka + Siakam + Anunoby + future picks is somehow viable.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Mirotic to the Bucks sucks for the Raps. He's a big upgrade over Ilyasova and others that have been getting a lot of minutes.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I guess this takes us out of the AD sweepstakes, unless Ibaka + Siakam + Anunoby + future picks is somehow viable. It'll be like the Jays of 2015-2016. This could go tits up all at once. Hope they can go on a long run this playoff.

I'm kind of ok with it. The DeRozan core wasn't getting it done. This team is much better but the emergence of the Bucks throws a wrench into the plans. Still, come playoff time when the intensity picks up the Raps D is going to be pretty nuts. It's going to be rebuilding time if it does or doesn't work but they won't be saddled with any bad contracts or anything at least.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I like this trade, moreso this is a positive impact on cap space starting next year.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I don't like this. A 34 year old Gasol for JV, Delon, z Miles, and a 2nd? My gut doesn't like this I'm not sure I like it either. I guess the big advantage for us is that Gasol is probably quite a bit better defensively, and can fill JV and Ibaka's roll next year (I kinda doubt he opts out of 25M at his age, but who knows). With Kyle's bad back, I'm a little skittish about losing Delon. It should free up some nice money next year at least.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I love this trade for Raps. Gasol stretches the floor and is also a fantastic passer which I think people are forgetting. Also with Ibaka as the backup C Gasol can play less minutes which hopefully helps out his play. At the beginning of the year Gasol was playing like a top 10 player before he slowed down.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 So we're now at 11 players, with two weeks to get up to the mandated 14. Definitely seems like we're gonna be active in the buyout market.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Moose going to the Nets.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Moose going to the Nets. Interesting. They clearly have something in mind coming soon. Also, man we really hate draft picks lol.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 KD acting like a proper ****.
