the draft is just an interlude, if you get good enough you can go to whatever team you dictate has to take you each season

I really enjoy soaking in your wisdom onwego but I didn’t grasp what you’re talking about here. Can you help me out as I’m quite a few years out of school

thanks, sorta... :D

there's 30 teams and roughly half of them are total trash and half of the others have no hope whatsoever to get anywhere except a quick playoff exit

it's a time when a team wins 73 games and then grabs one of the best and thinks this is a wise and very brave move, then we are supposed to marvel at them winning it easily

and we sit here waiting for LeBron to make up his mind who he is going to dictate he wants to play for, which kinda sucks but it is what it is

so the draft is kinda pointless except for a kid to pile up money to the moon and try to play a decent career

if he is good enough he can dictate where he goes, maybe even to a 73 win team...

Or sports and free agency. Like Harper being able to pick his team next year and possibly picking a team that already went deep in the playoffs

Funny thing is star NBA players are underpaid to what value they provide because of max contracts and yet they get bashed when they pick a place to go.

Like if there was no cap Durant is probably getting what $70 Million on the open market? As crazy as it sounds Lebron might get $100 Million.

Philly’s pitch to Lebron is that they could also deal for Leonard (which is very realistic as they have pieces without using Embiid or Simmons).

At that point maybe already-superior Boston even feels the need to improve their team.

If you’re the Raps (or any middling playoff team) in that situation, interesting how you proceed. Let’s see if the first ball drops though. LBJ-Philly:)

Find a way to somehow move Ibaka (even if you have to move a non-starter with him to do it). Rondo would be an interesting addition, as a pure point guard. That would free Lowry up to shoot more.

BTW, FVV signed a 2 year deal to stay with the Raptors :)

Rondo to the Raptors with Delon and FVV already in the mix? To add to your post, 2/18 deal for steady Freddy, very solid deal for us, I was expecting him to get Biyombo'd by another team.

Yeah, he shoots the 3 decently well (even though he doesn't take a lot) and is a very creative playmaker. I think it would help diversify our offensive looks a lot, which seems to be something the team wants (and needs) to do. If Lowry and FVV are on the floor with him, they can rain 3s all day :) It would also ensure a high quality playmaker on the floor at all times, for both the starters and bench, even if there's an injury or foul trouble.

“Safe move” for Lebron too as he’s obsessed with his image. Bolting for LA he can say it was all about family and he’s golden. Sixers would’ve been different

They should trade Lonzo. He's a terrible fit with Lebron because he can't shoot and play off the ball.

Yeah, I mean it’s tough to bury a a guy in a grave after his rookie season but it’ll be interesting to see how LA is going to go forward. Lonzo could go in a deal for Leonard or they could hold on to players and sign Cousins

I think they can do both tbh.

I doubt San An is going to want to move him there now unless their package is way better than any other deal

They should take the best deal possible. If the NBA reseeds 1-16 and they took a worse deal to send him out East it will look terrible.

I don’t think that will happen but who knows. But I’m just saying if you can deal him to Philly for Fultz, Saric, and a desirable unprotected 1st, that’s maybe a little less appealing than the LA package but you don’t have to face another super team in your conference for years to come

At this point, all the other teams should just play their worst players against the warriors. Let them fall into really bad habits. Plus, I bet their fan attendance and viewership would drop with no competition.
