The Raps are really being hit hard by the injury bug now. They were already struggling, and then they lost Patterson for an extended period of time, arguably a top 3 player, and then Derozan went down, coinciding with the former's injury; so they're down two of their top 3 players, with DD being their 1B scoring option and PP their best defender. Only bright side here is the Powell has been getting playing opportunities and is showing that he deserves a lot of minutes, specially over Carroll who sucks.

I'd be more concerned with how mediocre the role players have been. If you're star player goes down youre going to lose some games, but 2-8 is embarrassing.

Couldn't agree more!!! U ain't winning s*** with the likes of Carroll, Sullinger, Ross, Poeltl, Siakam, VanVleet, Nogueira and Joseph. A good game from Carroll and Ross is no good every 8-10 games.

I haven't really followed basketball that closely the last couple years, I thought Ibaka was a rebounding force. Not so much. Still, the Raps needed a legit 4 and Ibaka is a great defender.

This is a no-brainer tbh.

 

Powell is better than Ross, we already have a mid 20s first pick - don't need to clog the roster with an additional one + fill the biggest need on the team with a still solid PF

Rebounding is less of a need than a 3/D big is. And if Lowry is unhappy all Masai needs to do is finally fire Casey.

 

Hope we make another acquisition. We still have another 1st, Sullinger, Bebe, Siakam, Poeltl, Norm and CoJo to deal if we want to. We have Ibaka and Patterson's bird rights so we can resign anyone but god knows this team isn't adding anyone else through free agency.

 

I wonder if we start Norm or Carroll to replace Ross. Norm is better but Carroll might be a better fit.
