dineke Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Everyone should probably just post their lists Who I'd take for the next 3 years 1. Steph 2. Harden 3. Westbrook 4. Lowry 5. Paul 6. Kemba 7. Wall 8. Lillard 9. Kyrie 10. Bledsoe/Teague/Rubio If Giannis is a PG he'd slot in around Paul/Kemba kinda low for Giannis. He has an argument for #1 for all positions not just pg.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 FFS, get the regulars out.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Well needless to say, that was an above poster's SN.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 kinda low for Giannis. He has an argument for #1 for all positions not just pg. I forgot I did next three years when choosing Lowry over him but I would take Steph Harden Westbrook over Giannis next 3 years. Then yeah, definitely Giannis > Lowry obviously.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I'd take Giannis over Westbrook for sure and likely over Curry and Harden too but it'd be a lot closer. Lebron, Durant and Kawhi are my top 3 if you expanded it to all positions.

Everyone looks at the 30/10/10 and its nice but the scoring isn't that effecient..he's usage is over 41% so he basically is hogging the ball MORE THAN KOBE did.

TBF that's by necessity as he's on a bad team. Put in the same situation only LeBron, and Giannis (in a few years) could get close to what Westbrook is doing. Westbrook is unstoppable and unlike a lot of guards is actually also a pretty good defender.

Even when Durant was there it was the same.

He's only 28 though, so he should have at least 3 more seasons of being a top ten player in the league.

He's like Magic Johnson reincarnated but a better defender.

That's a given. But Westbrook takes it to a different level. He's like Bautista, but much worse.

He doesn't take it to a James Harden, Stephen Curry ( though he plays with 4 legit stars now so it's hard to compare) and that's what we're arguing. Just because he dominates the basketball more, and it's very evident from his usage rates, doesn't make him the MVP of the league. Just watch a Thunder game and you'll see him steal at least 2 rebounds away from his teammates and race up the floor
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Anyone ever find it curious how we never heard about NBA players and PEDs?

Giannis has amazing potential and is a very good player, but at this stage of his career you're dreaming to call him better than Westbrook right now, let alone Magic.

Didn't say he is better than what magic was but he is better than Westbrook so far this season.

Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 No DD for the next few games, could drop 6 in a row.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Because they prefer different illegal substances. lol no. The NBA just doesnt care, which they shouldnt.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Cavs turnt down Love for Melo deal.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 All Star reserves seem fair: East Reserves: John Wall, Isaiah Thomas, Kevin Love, Paul Millsap, Paul George, Kyle Lowry, Kemba Walker West Reserves: Russell Westbrook, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus Cousins, Gordon Hayward, Marc Gasol
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Only one All Star from the Spurs (Leonard) but Aldridge hasn't been significantly better than Jordan. Chris Paul arguably deserved a pick in the West over Hayward, but Paul is injured anyway.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Did anyone see that clip of the D league player making lay up in his OWN basket with a second left to send the game into overtime lol. Easily the most bonehead play Ive ever seen in my life

Easily the most bonehead play Ive ever seen in my life I thought that was a(n?) European League game, they play the footage on Sportsnet misplays all the time. I agree with you that it's probably as stupid of a play as we've ever seen in sports.

I had a to rewatch it FOUR times to realize what the f*** happened lmao.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 You have to be a special kind of stupid to do what he did lmao. Patrick Laine scored in his own net off a rebound earlier this year.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Patrick Laine scored in his own net off a rebound earlier this year. I saw that, but he was trying to lift it past the net or something wasn't he? Still, under the circumstances of the game, scoring the tying basket for the opposing team to force the game into overtime is on a different level.
