Top 10 Personal Catcher Verified Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Great Effort, Raps! GREAT season!! Looking forward to the future.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Lowry got fouled like 4 times on that play.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 SUms up the entire series I suppose. Lowry got fouled by 3 different players, about 3 times each from them
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Lowry got fouled like 4 times on that play. Yeah, you knew nothing was getting called there though. Raps played a great series, they have nothing to be ashamed of.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Great season guys, hopefully we resign Lowry in the offseason, maybe add one or two more pieces and make another run next year. Remember, this is a team that everybody wanted/expected to tank, and they managed to not only make the playoffs, but win the division with a franchise-best mark!!
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I'm heart broke right now. That was a tough one. Tough loss. This game reminded me why I stopped caring about basketball a few years ago. Maybe I'll go back to doing that.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 great effort, raps! Great season!! Looking forward to the future. agreed!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Thanks to everyone who participated in this thread. It was a good season guys, and we're leaving with our heads held high. Amazing discussion, would love to do it again next season.
Top 10 Personal Catcher Verified Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Incidentally, the Nets are gonna get absolutely murdered by the Heat.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Thanks to everyone who participated in this thread. It was a good season guys, and we're leaving with our heads held high. Amazing discussion, would love to do it again next season. This has quickly become my favorite thread with a lot of awesome posters. Somehow turned into my favorite place to talk ball. The off season is gonna be interesting. Masai's first full offseason at the helm. I'm really proud to be a Toronto Raptors fan.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Of course Casey would draw up a terrible play at the end of the game. I feel sick.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Incidentally, the Nets are gonna get absolutely murdered by the Heat. Yeah, they aren't going to get lopsided calls in that series. I hope Garnett gets demolished too. Horrible sportsmanship from him.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Yeah, they aren't going to get lopsided calls in that series. I hope Garnett gets demolished too. Horrible sportsmanship from him. I can't wait to see Bosh demolish him. I know he left and all but I never really /strongly/ resented him or T-Mac.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 SUms up the entire series I suppose. Lowry got fouled by 3 different players, about 3 times each from them Announcers on ABC all called it clean play. They showed it few times. That "ghost foul" on Williams near the end they showed 2x where the Raps guys left arm hacked the guy.. Announcers gave play-by-play with that too. I'm sure that half summed up how the refs called the series Nets moved the ball a lot better to get open shots, DeRozan and Lowry are both fun to watch but were reckless in shot selection a lot more so than Nets. Raps boxed out s***** and allowed too many guys to go to the hoop uncontested. It was great they made it at close. DeRozan and Lowrys athleticism shined through. A lot if BRK missed shots in clutch. That's how game was really won/lost
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Toronto sports.. nothing good happens to us.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I can't wait to see Bosh demolish him. I know he left and all but I never really /strongly/ resented him or T-Mac. Bosh was the only reason the Raptors weren't the worst team in the league year after year, great respect for the guy, he wanted to win a championship and wasn't a douche about it, we can understand that.
Caper Verified Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Great ending of the game. Tell you the truth, I didn't want to get torched by the heat. After a disappointing playoff debut, Ross really went out on a positive note.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 No help from the refs, but the Raptors can only blame themselves because they played poorly enough to be in a position where they really needed help from the officials. I don't understand why Lowry didn't just move the rock at the end. Triple teamed with six seconds left and he just elects to dribble into three big bodies... had to realize that he wasn't going to get a call. Oh well. Basketball is dumb.

bzapple Verified Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Tough loss but it was great to see a competitive Raptors team again. I'll definitely be watching a lot more regular season games next year.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Going to be a very interesting offseason
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Silver lining I suppose that this is the last we will never have to watch John Salmons again. How good would have Loul Deng looked on this team
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I'm proud of them for the way they played all year. For the first time in forever I'm actually sad that the Raptors' season is over.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Heartbroken right now. Raps made some key mistakes but the refs stole this from them. Never been more proud to be a Raps fan tho. Young, scrappy team with a bright future and the BEST fans in the league. The atmosphere in that building was mind blowing. Re-sign Lowry and GV. Upgrade at the wing and PF (Amir and PP combo not good enough) Get a better wing player to complement Ross.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Ross definitely was reason #1 we lost the series. He showed flashes today but he consistently missed wide open shots and got burned defensively when we needed a shot.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Some good fits in free agency this year. Get Drake on the phone. There's Greg Monroe whom I like, but other than that there arent much bigs out there. Amir's a beast and he's by far my favourite athlete but he's taken a beaten physically. I wouldnt mind having him come off the bench and limiting him to 20 minutes a game

I saw enough this season to make me think he can be great.

I wouldnt mind having him come off the bench and limiting him to 20 minutes a game Amir has one year left on his contract and PP is a FA. I'd re-sign PP and then let Amir walk next year. Then Durant as the starter and PP backup in the years after. I'm really optimistic for the future. You cannot place a value on the experience that these players will gain from this series.
