The real roster decsision isn't when Reyes comes back but it is when Lawrie comes back. Are we really going to keep DeRosa on the roster over Kawaski, Bonie and Izzy because of his "veteran" presence?

Just seen MLB poll show for the most likable teammate. Mark Derosa was number 3 amongst players polled around the league. I see why he was brought in, keeps it loose with teammates and great leader. Imagine that, we have two guys who keeps it loose for us.

What's the point of keeping Lawrie? Kidding, but really, I hate that son of a bitch.

I love DeRosa, guy who mashes lefties and has come up huge in the limited time he's played. Plus, veteran presence/leader/intangibles blah blah blah, every championship team seems to have one.

Whats the point of keeping Lawrie? Some people say that he is only 23! Yeah! he is 23 not 13, so if you can get anything for the __________ then you should grab it and take it all the way to the bank. Paying his cost for his stay in a mental institution would not be worthwhile. Again the reason we don't hire a Shrink to straighten Romeros problems out is because there is a stigma attached to anyone in society with a mental problem, can you imagine a multimillionaire with an ego.......... Hense the Blue Jays have to swallow his 20 million dollars Otherwise they could afford the best Shrink money could buy.

Seeing the way this team is playing without him "should" help Lawrie to calm down a tiny bit, at least I hope so. I've said that once he's back, they need to not play him every single game. Give Lawrie 2 days off a week, maybe 3, to let him watch the game from the bench and maybe plant a tiny bit of doubt about his importance to the team.

Just a thought.

I guess when he comes back that's when you send Kawasaki down and replace the most liked with the worst liked. Lawrie is one of the most immature players in the league, I just pray he has learned something about being part of a team while he's been away.

Lawrie is probably reading this thread thinking he can prove you guys wrong by being the same but produce better results and stick it to you.

Give him time and he will be ok, don't rush him back.

If Lawrie is reading this thread then that is problem number 1

Also, the last thing I want is for him to rush back, in fact I don't care when he gets back.

Do you has reading something about Luther King?

DeRosa is our Luther King....Bautista is good talking s*** against the rival pitchers, arguing with the umpires and dancing in the dugout.

Kawasaki should not be on this team at that point. DeRosa can play 3 positions, Kawasaki 1, maybe 2.

I could see DeRosa getting traded, or he stays here to platoon with Maicer. Boni ends up in outfield or late-inning pinch hitter/runner, like Davis.

Pretty sure Kawasaki can play 2nd, and he plays his positions better than Derosa can

I have a feeling Kawasaki can play the outfield too. He's the kind of guy that you give him a challenge and he will work his ass and do it.

LOL at people wanting to rid of Lawrie.........f***ing Derp. Just because you don't like him doesn't mean he should be gone. It's what he has the potential to do between the lines is important. *SMFH*

It constantly amazes me, how many short sighted people post on these message boards. Posters were screaming that he was being held down in the minors. Then he was finally brought up after an injury, and the second coming had arrived. He played way over his head, and then he is expected to post the same numbers in his second season. He suffers a severe injury because he is young and plays like most fans want him to play.

He finally gets back on the field to start the season, probably before he was completely well, and all of a sudden, he is struggling and people hate him. He has proven himself to be a terrific defender at 3rd and his hitting will come around. But posters hate him, they hate his attitude, and for that reason, he should be gone?

Lots of people HATED Pete Rose. Hated his attitude, his cockiness, his swagger. But give me a player like that any day. I am not saying Lawrie is ever going to be Pete Rose. But I would take 20 Lawrie's over a De Rosa anyday of the week.

I agree with you and most here do as well. I would just say that Lawrie and DeRosa have a place on the team so it's not one at the expense of the other. DeRosa knows his role is on the bench and is actually the only right handed hitter with power off the bench. DeRosa has done a good job even though a lot of us wanted him DFA'ed earlier in the year so many of us were wrong about him, some are just not willing to admit it.

BTW guys

Keep in mind the Biogenesis scandal and how Bud is looking to get suspensions in first before any appeals.

Melky could get suspended, meaning we could have a Davis/Boni platoon in left. That'll slot in DeRosa at 2nd.

I will be surprised if there is much done before the end of the season. Selig can not suspend players without appeals. Plus Melky has already served his punishment. Unless, it is proved that he is involved in another case, I doubt the mlbpa would allow him to be punished again for the same thing

I thought a player couldn't be suspended twice for the same infraction?

Pretty sure you're thinking about murder. #doublejeopardy

Does double jeopardy apply strictly to murder? My understand was it just protects people from being charged for the same crime twice, not strictly for the same murder.

Lawrie learning anything isn't going to happen. He's a cement head. So you don't like him now you will never like him. He makes mistakes and afterwards he brags that he would do the same thing over again. He's a total idiot in my books. So much wasted talent.
