Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Reyes Bautista Encarnacion Lind Cabrera Rasmus Arincibia Isturis Bonifacio / Kawasaki I like your lineup but think Gibby will hit cabrera second, bautista third and on down.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I like your lineup but think Gibby will hit cabrera second, bautista third and on down. I think he stated that Bautista will stay second.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Gibby said he likes Bautista and EE at 2nd and 3rd and 100% Reyes will lead off. That means, more likely than not, Melky will be somewhere in the middle of the lineup.
Rafters Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 (SS) Reyes (s) (LF) Melky (s) (1B/DH) EE ® (1B/DH) Lind (l) (RF) JoeyBats ® (CF) Rasmus (l) © JPA ® (3B)Lawrie ® (2B)Boni/Izturis) (s) Time to put Bautista in a RBI position and give Lind some protection as well......and Edwin should be batting 3rd now
Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I think he stated that Bautista will stay second. Where? Link?
backontop Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Reyes Isturis (he's getting better) Encarnation Lind Bautisa Rasmus Cabrera Arencibia Kawasaki..........New line up from the new manager Mr. Backontop, "quite an approiate name Pat, yes Buck ...........
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Where? Link? Honestly, I'm not sure. I remember hearing it somewhere. He should stay second, though.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Isturis (he's getting better) This man just suggested batting Izturis second. Get this guy a manual.
itsawrap Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I don't think Melky should be anywhere near the top...The guy has an OPS under .700 and is struggling hard lately. 5th is perfect for him. Ideally we'd have Lind batting 2nd, Edwin 3rd, and JB cleaning up. Imagine the possibilities!

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Honestly, I'm not sure. I remember hearing it somewhere. He should stay second, though. Gibbons said they were leaning this way on Baseball Central, but nothing's been decided yet. This is the way they'll go, make no mistake about it.

itsawrap Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Lineup importance goes 2,4,1,5,3,6,7,8,9 as far as optimization is concerned. I can see that. A lot of the times to start the game the 3 hitter will come up with nobody on and 2 out. However, with guys like Reyes and Lind setting the table, how often will that be really? I cringe at the the thought of Rasmus striking out or hitting into a DP with one or both of those guys on.
atki_bre Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Has to be 1. Reyes 2. Bautista 3. EE 4. Lind 5. Cabrera 6. Rasmus 7. J.P. 8. Platoon 9. Platoon With Lind hitting the way he is we can keep Bautista hitting two to get him the most at bats possible. IMO everybody has protection in the top five and with Rasmus/J.P. behind Cabrera he will get pitches to hit as they are both dangerous home run hitters. If the bottom of the lineup can get OB we have a very dangerous lineup which gets so much better when Lawrie comes back and hits 8.
The_DH Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Honestly, I'm not sure. I remember hearing it somewhere. He should stay second, though. I heard Gibby say it as well in an interview.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 It's all just nitpicking though, differences in lineups like this can be only like .1 or less runs per game. It's about 1 win a season, so 10 runs, so .06 runs a game, I think. I read a solid article, it's much more important that you don't do stupid s*** like batting Zack Cozart second, than it is that you do the right thing and bat Joey Votto 2nd. Eliminating Stupidity is Easier than Creating Brilliance So as long as Bonifacio isn't hitting 2nd we're fine lol.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Gibby's lineup with Reyes back: Shi Davidi @ShiDavidi 16m Cabrera drops to fifth. #BlueJays vs #Rays pic.twitter.com/yodzSvIDmi
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 That lineup looks so much more potent with Reyes in there
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 That lineup looks so much more potent with Reyes in there A very sweet 1-4... I'd prefer Rasmus 5th personally but there are other nits to pick...
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 A very sweet 1-4... I'd prefer Rasmus 5th personally but there are other nits to pick... Yeah, that's negligible
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 them Dominicans on the team are close. And really, really good (well, reyes, Bautista and EE anyway...)
DickeyJohnsonWang Verified Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Need Reyes to stay healthy from here on out. Top of the lineup looks f***in sweeeeet
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Would look even better like this... 1. Reyes - 6 2. Bautista - 9 3. Encarnaction - 5 4. Lind - 3 5. Cabrera - DH 6. Rasmus - 8 7. Lawrie - 4 8. Davis - 7 9. Thole - 2
