Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 The next 20 out of 23 game stretch sees us playing teams ahead of us in the WC/Division standings. This 23 game stretch will tell us all we need to know about this team and their chances. Food for thought.
Caper Verified Member Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I feel like I'm gearing up for the Super Bowl tonight. Way too pumped for this game.

I also have a bit of nervousness about the next 2 series, prob because a 4-5 game losing streak against the division and we are back to square one. I want this team to win so bad lol.
jaysfaithful8 Verified Member Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I'm with you guys. In the big scheme of things, this is just one game. But at the same time, a win could add a lot to our momentum and a loss takes some wind out of our sails. Would love to see this win streak continue for another 3 games at least. It's a lot to hope for, but the pitching has been good.
itsawrap Verified Member Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 This weekend is gonna be too intense. Tampa vs. NY, us and against the O's, BoSox against Detroit. The standings are definitely gonna be impacted come Sunday night.
bzapple Verified Member Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 We were already playing teams ahead of us all the time, back when we were a bottom-3 team in the league.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 What are you nervous about you called the season over in April.......May........early June?! It's amazing how many people think every game is do or die. Sure this is a very important game because it could be the game that gets us to .500 and its against a division rival, but we still have 91 games and are only 7 games back of the division. People need to f***ing relax. Lets just take it 1 game at a time from this point and enjoy the ride. This team is looking more and more like it could rise to the top. Lets keep this streak going.

Im gonna blow your mind.....not everyone is the same and get really invested in their sports teams GASP. Fan stands for fanatic...... there is no right or wrong way to cheer for the team. I am not alone obviously.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Win the series, can't expect to sweep every series, just win the series and play .500 on the next roadtrip or go 3 and 4 and come back home and continue to win at home. If they do better on the road, then even better. Just enjoy the games and stop jinxing the team...season's over for me!

As for people being invested in this team, well I haven't missed a single game yet this season and have already attended 8 games, I would call that heavily invested. I just choose not to be unrealistic. According to many on this board we have already played like 50 do or die games, yet here we are.

I disagree. If they go 5-5 over the next 10 its not over by any means. If they lose 7 or 8 then yeah it starts to get overwhelmingly unlikely, but the fact that they are only 7 games back at this point is a great thing with all things considered.
