Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 MLB is stooping to the NBA's level. Such a poorly run league. They are partaking in a witch hunt to try to restore fan confidence when it only proves that their own testing has been s***, and frankly any fans with a brain don't care at this point. It could have some implications though, especially for A-Rod who could possibly see his contract voided if the transgressions are around the time he signed his extension. I don't know about you, but I really want them to have to eat that salary rather than get out from under it.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 Player Team Ryan Braun Brewers Everth Cabrera Padres Francisco Cervelli Yankees Bartolo Colon Athletics Nelson Cruz Rangers Fautino de los Santos Free agent Gio Gonzalez* Nationals Yasmani Grandal Padres Fernando Martinez Astros Jesus Montero Mariners Jordan Norberto Free agent Jhonny Peralta Tigers Cesar Puello** Mets Alex Rodriguez Yankees Blue Jays entire team Call up buffalo entire team
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Call up buffalo entire team Would probably outperform the current team Negrych = 8.8 nWAR (narrative WAR)
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 any list that doesn't have JPA on it...I can't support a suspension. I'm truly tired of it it all.

This is mostly a means of finally nailing Ryan Braun IYAM

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Not many good Canadian boys on that list What is it with Mexican's and using PED's?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 Not many good Canadian boys on that list What is it with Mexican's and using PED's? Canadians are bad baseball players, they only play a stupid game called Hockey
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Canadians are bad baseball players, they only play a stupid game called Hockey I didn't read through the thread, but was this specific incident what you were hearing like 6 months ago when you said something big was coming with a few huge names? If so, cred restored!

If so, cred restored! Yeah. but according to my sources missing a big name. A Melky's friend was the source. MLB was bribing to Tony Bosch; they was not very happy with the Braun case.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I heard Munenori Kawasaki is on that list too.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Didn't Melky already receive a suspension? Or did he take something else again
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Didn't Melky already receive a suspension? Or did he take something else again I don't think he did it again. MLB will be suspending these players based on what they bought from this Bosch guy. Meaning that Melky will be suspended for stuff he purchased in 2011
Cello Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Didn't Melky already receive a suspension? Or did he take something else again No idea. Rumour has it that some players may be suspended for up to 100 games this time. Perhaps another 50 for Melky?
leaffie Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Melky already fessed up and and has served his suspension. According to a lawyer just on Sirius, they can not suspend him again. Lawyer is highly doubtful that other than the names being out there, that suspensions will hold up in court. Firstly, Bosch is receiving financial support for talking, and that never goes over very well. Secondly, names may be in the records, but MLB has no proof that the players took it. Someone on the list (can't remember which player) is linked because someone in his financial office was named. Said that MLB is pursuing this for appearances. FWIW
Wilnercibia Verified Member Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 He won't be suspended, however I would like to see Braun handed a big suspension. Melky payed his dues

cesarb182 Verified Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) The media really botched this story, the latest details to come out take the pressure off Perez. From that article: "Police did acknowledge that they had been called to the house multiple times in the past for "criminal instances," but not since Perez has been living in the home ... those problems ceased after Perez moved into the home ... Stillman also said he is unaware of how long Perez had been renting the home." Seems like it was meant to be sent to the previous renters and whoever sent the drugs messed up with the address. Nah, i doubt he doesn't enjoy smoking a blunt when he gets home after closing out a game would be a good excuse though Edited June 6, 2013 by cesarb182
Iluvbjs Verified Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I don't have the link to confirm, but I believe Melky will be suspended for another 50 games, although I'm sure he will appeal it. When I was watching the story break and looking at the print, it clearly stated that any player who directly tries/tried to mislead MLB about their use, will automatically be subject to an additional 50 game penalty. They went on further to say that because Melky supposedly went as far as to put up some website in order to defend himself, that it constitutes him lying about it initially before eventually admitting to it. I honestly think that Selig is going to stick this tag to Melky in order to make an example out of him for making such an extravagant effort to lie about it. Never mind the efforts he made after to come clean. I'm not sure it will stick on appeal, But I'm betting he gets tagged for an additional 50 and that if they think they have enough proof on Braun, the same will happen to him as well.

I mean they don't need any additional evidence since he admitted it, right?
