Jeffrey_Paul Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Seriously? The dudes done nothing with the bat lol. 1 game we won't miss much. He hasn't done much with the bat, but his defence is still better than the next best option.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Lawrie just being Lawrie, a total idiot like usual. Needs a swift kick in the ass.

Lawrie just needs to shut up. I wish he wasnt on the team, i have a hard time cheering for *******s
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Looks like Bautista was reminding Lawrie what happened when Hillenbrand decided to run his mouth back to Gibbons. Seriously, this guy is really starting to annoy me. It's inexcusable to pull what he does. He seems to think he's putting up MVP kind of numbers and is the heart and soul of the team. He has a couple good games, slumps, then gets a few hits in consecutive games and thinks he's a god. Too bad we didn't have the depth because sending him to AAA for a reality check and to work on his ability to get hits might work.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 I love how Bautista steps up and tries to calm him down
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 I love how Bautista steps up and tries to calm him down Why? Bautista should have joined Gibbons and told Lawrie off also.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Maybe Lawrie was too stupid to understand the situation and though Lind's run meant something? I wouldn't put it past him. maybe??? not sure how maybe gets into the equation. he's more of a douche than he is stupid though. Lind robbed Lawrie of meaningless high 5s. it's not even the stats that he cares about. it's all about the instant gratification and that's why he was on twitter 15 minutes after the game.

Guy's a attention whore. If this guy doesnt grow up fast he's going to have a short career.

Yeah, I agree... I don't think it was the RBI he cared about... He probably felt like a loser for being the one guy that didn't keep the line moving... Regardless, it's childish behavior... He better get his AVG up beyond .200 first before he talks, and he has a lot of work to do before earning the kind of respect he thinks he deserves
IBTrini Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Hope he sits next game. That would punish the whole team. He is young, still learning, and we have seen how much the defense suffers without him at 3B. I believe he was caught up in the moment and as such was not able to process the team's position at that point. He reaction was inappropriate and he most probably will see that when he reflects on it later especially after it's brought to his attention. Gibbons called him out for it and they should just more on. Every wrong should not necessarily be punished especially when there is an opportunity for the individual to learn from it. He has learned not to yell at the HP umpire, not to hit the HP umpire with equipment, and I think he has also learned not to throw any other pieces of equipment in the direction of the umpire. He still has a lot to learn so you cannot be benching him for every mistake.
admin Site Manager Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 You can only use the "he is young" excuse so many times. Sometimes you have to take responsiblity for your actions and understand you can't do whatever you want, whenever you want.

Yep the biggest issue I have with the guy is that hes showing no signs of learning from his actions or growing up. Just a few days ago he gets tossed for throwing equipment close to the ump and now only 2-3 days later hes basically yelling at the third base coach/player when he was in the wrong? I know its kind of a jerk thing to say but I really think this guy needs to get on some kind of OCD meds.

BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Lind would have been out by a kilometre. Anyway can't risk it in the ninth, his run meant nothing at that point. Lawrie is taking 'douche' to epic proportions.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Gibbons did the right thing called him out on the spot and made it clear that that s*** is not tolerable. That's as far as it needs to go anything further than that would just be detrimental. Lawrie's already going to have to deal with the media and everyone on twitter calling him a douche bag , that will be punishment enough.

Not saying we will or should, but If we ever thought of trading Lawrie I'd contact Seattle, I would see if they would take him for Kyle Seager. Both 3rd basemen, Lawrie's younger by 2 years, and was more highly thought of as a prospect, but Seager's also playing awesome right now and Lawrie's playing crap except for defense. Seager: (2013) .278/.343/.472 6hr 23rbi 15(2b) 1(3b) 19bb 37so (2012) .259/.316/.423 20hr 86rbi 35(2b) 1(3b) 46bb 110so Not sure if Seattle does it since their park favours lefty hitters over righties. At this point Montero for Lawrie probably seems like the more reasonable offer, maybe add one of the young relievers Seattle has in abundance to make up for positional value (DH vs. 3B).
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Can't see Rogers letting AA trade Lawrie, even if he wanted to.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Can't see Rogers letting AA trade Lawrie, even if he wanted to. I freakin' hope not, he's at his lowest value. Keep and fix the guy, there's talent in there once you look past the RedBull. He'd probably go to another team and tear it up, like Hill.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 It really sucks that Kyle Seager was better than Lawrie last year, and has been miles better this year. Yeah I had no idea Seager was doing that well, in that park no less.
JaysFanToronto Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Don't be ridiculous Lawrie isn't getting traded. Cause that's exactly what I said. Forgive me for bringing up a hypothetical scenario to discuss on a discussion board.

Still this team's player development track record is not good. I'm beginning to see why Milwaukee pulled the trigger.
JaysFanToronto Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Yeah I had no idea Seager was doing that well, in that park no less. That park is not that bad for lefties actually. And I think they moved in the fences this year for the righties as well. But I agree, I thought Seager would pretty much be replacement level for his career but right now he's already at 4war for 2013.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Trading Brett Lawrie is a no go dont be so sure...
