I was at the game so I couldn't see. Was there a stop sign up or was there not enough time to react to Gose running?

On a side note I ran into a man in an O's jersey getting congratulated in our section prior to the game...so I took a chance and went up and said "Mr Gausman" and it was his Dad. Really cool to see a guy who isn't that much older than my self be that so excited (and willing to talk to a complete stranger) for his son's debut.

Just watched it, Rivera had a weak stop sign, gose didn't even look at him, once the throw was made to second Gose went from slowing down 2 steps off third base to a full sprint for home plate.

You said it not me lol. I'm surprised Kawasaki doesn't commit seppuku in true samurai fashion after a strikeout, and Rasmus drive his pickup truck to the barber to cut his hic mullet.

Don't be such a wuss dude lol.

You wanna maybe just admit that you maybe crossed a line in a stupid f***ing way and got called out on it? Or do you want to keep pretending that this is hilarious?

I don't give a f*** either way, but y'know... It's "wussy" to be aware of completely

Only you seems to care buddy. You made something out of nothing as others have said. That makes you an over sensitive wuss. You can go cry in a corner about it, or man up and move on.

I'm going to bed.

That kind of Gose play only encourages Lawrie to try to do the same and we all know what's going to happen with that.

YEah.. Gose didn't even look at Rivera, and it was an instinctive play. Frankly, I enjoyed it but only because it was something different and fun to see.. if he had been thrown out, I would have been pissed and called for a benching to curb the "youthful exuberance".

What it does do is highlight what speed can do on the base paths. With Davis (when he comes back), Gose and Boneface, we should never have a problem with late inning pinch runners, which means Melky can probably be sub'd most of the time after 7innings over the next few weeks while his wheels heal!

I was also looking at the batting lineup, and I'm loving seeing the top of the lineup racking up them ribeyes and steadily inreasing their BA/OBP. The bottom of the lineup though REALLY needs to step up. 3 of them at or near the Mendoza line is definitely too much to carry on a (hopefully) competitive team!

Jays were up by 2. In that situation, I take that chance.

If they were tied, or behind, you're right... But adding an insurance run with his wheels, that's a decent play.

Yeah 2 runs is such a massive lead.....Not it was a bad play any manager should discourage.

... So... uh...

*Topic change*

how about that Encarnacion guy, eh?

Anyone else love Devlin's commentary?

Ya man, as I said before the game he does a good job on the Raptors broadcast. 100X better than Buck just for the fact he doesn't bumble and mispronounce names every 2 minutes. Also seemed to have enough knowledge about the game, which was a nice surprise.

He seemed to have a decent grasp of the game, especially when talking about Gausman's repertoire; and no "big soft hands" and "strong hips" or whatever s*** Tabler spews.

Devlin is really good.

He does a awesome job when he does nba playoff games and I've heard hes even done hockey games in the past.

Has he done hockey? I'd like to see that. Any time he isn't with Leo Rautins or Jack Armstrong he's great.

The Gose play only worked because Casilla made a horrendous throw despite being only about 50 feet from the plate. He double-clutched and still threw it high, if that's remotely accurate or quicker Gose is out by a mile.

[insert generic comment about "speed putting pressure on the defense"]

So about the game, does anyone else feel like we're gaining a reputation as one of the worst/most unruly fanbases in baseball? McLouth getting a drink thrown at him just for selling a catch was pretty embarrassing.

Sorry, but it was a real idiotic play by Gose to do that. He should have been thrown out. But he wasn't, so everyone loved it.

It would have been second and third, no outs.

I agree with your take on this play.

I couldn't speculate on the reputation part, put that drink came pretty close to hitting Mclouth, had he been hit, yea I would say we earned a reputation lol

I feel like the unruly part is confirmation bias, but we're a pretty ridiculous fan base.

Come on, like you could expect a phone/internet poll of average Jays fans to be any better? Honestly, if that same poll was made on SN1 today, Morrow would have gotten 50% of the votes...

I was confused how Tabler kept going on and on, on how fantastic Morrow pitched. I mean he was decent until those back to back homeruns, but 4ER in 7IP is never fantastic.

Was a weak stop sign because he didn't even consider the thought of Gose going lol.

Several things happened in that play that could have made that play go either way.

- Gose rounding third hesitated, I don't know if he was going to stop, but seen the trejectory of the ball and thought it was going to bounce/bobble, but it looks like he was gonna stop, then decided to go.

- The fielder double pumps. Probably would have been out easily if he didn't, or if the throw was on.

- Gose stumbles/hesitates as he's about to slide. Not sure if he was deciding how he was going to slide, or the high through surprised him or what.

Tabler has massive rose coloured glasses when it comes to the jays, he makes it sound like everything is a lot better then it is.

Good breakdown.

With your last point, looked like a hesitation to decide where to slide, when it happened initially, I yelled, "what a deke!!" lol

When the replay aired, it dawns on me how many things went right for that play to succeed. Got away with one there, exciting nonetheless.
