It's funny how AA has fallen out of the good graces of Toronto fans.

Well, it's easy (easier) to be a GM when you're in a rebuilding mode; dump salary and acquire prospects. When you actually have to construct a major league roster that's worthy of contending, that's when it becomes difficult. You can't hide behind what a prospect "might" become, you need to assemble a team that can produce wins.

AA will fight everything before getting rid of Bonifiasco. he has staked his career on him by his comments about the miami trade and his evaluations post trade of him. he'd have to eat buckets of crow if he turned around and traded the guy the miami deal hinged on.

Sad but true. AA's initial quotes on the deal could come back to haunt him. I remember him saying he called Miami & asked for josh Johnson. Johnson only had 1 year left, & was an injury risk. The marlins asked for some propsects, then the deal grew to include Reyes & Buerhle.

If the deal had stopped at Josh Johnson for whoever, AA would be stuck with an injured pitcher in 2013, who will probably be traded at the deadline.

AA wanted Bonificia & was very reluctant to give up Jeff Mathis. Bonifacio has been underwhelming & Jeff Mathis got hurt, but was otherwise a decent backup.

JPA has no serious competition for playing time , so he probably feels that he can get away with poor at bats. Did AA make a secret handshake deal with JPA to tell him he would get rid of TDarnaud, who would have competed with him this year for playing time or Josh Thole.

I love the PGT. It helps separate the discussion.

Very true. The beauty of AA's plans is the Jays had several up & coming pitchers & position players coming up.

AA had Brett Lawrie watch in 2011. JPA watch, wit his spectacular debut in 2010, Snider was popular. Most fans thought Drabek would be a star given his dad's pedigree.

Hutchison was good. Carlos V etc...

The Lansing trio could have been milked as a storyline for a few years.

I don't fault AA for going into win now mode, but AA will have to be accountable for the team this year.

You can't allow JPA to continue to make a fool of himself at the plate.

I have no explanation for the implosion of Ricky Romero.

Keep the PGT!!! (Can I vote with both hands, if that helps!)

Man, I hate losses....they affect my mood so much.. especially after games that we could/should have had... and after those fails in the 7th and 8th... the 9th Strike Job was tough to swallow....

Yep. They should have won this game. The bullpen put up zero after zero. They clawed back three runs but failed to make a big inning at any time with a complete and utter lack of clutch hitting. Familiar story.

Fans have zero effect on a GM's job, if it's different than there's bigger problems present.

AA won't be fired based on a fan revolt. He could get fired if the Jays fail to make the playoffs by 2015. The big problem for Rogers this year, is that the team started weakly & with a firm grasp on last place, they have little chance of making a playoff run.

The Jays won't benefit as much from Casual fan excitement, showing up at Rogers Centre in August, September if they stay in last place.

The Jays would have been better off starting strong & then fading after the All Star Break , which is what usually happens to them.

The Jays only had 30K for a sunny holiday Monday. That's disappointing

Yeah. I suspect casual fan interest is fading fast. Which is actually too bad because I wanted to see ticket sales up another 10-20%. Not gonna happen now obviously.

At least the division deficit didn't get bigger as the yankees and red sox lost....trying to amuse myself.

We are also chasing the second wild card. Losing ground to Tamba and Baltimore is not good. Maybe worse than losing ground to Yanks and Sox. Also digs us farther into last place.

There was no need to "construct" a major league roster full of "vets" that's worthy of "contention". AA was suppose to construct a system and an environment that would produce many young players. As we've seen in Oakland, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, and even Baltimore this can work.

AA was suppose to build a pipeline that could provide young players, and then compliment it with younger journeyman types.

Most Prospects fail. So you need to collect a lot of them. AA was suppose to collect as many as possible and create an environment for them to suceed. He gave up on this and created a scary, depressing, old, perverse team.

He was never suppose to construct a roster. He was suppose to construct a pipeline and environment which would breed success and let it evolve. At this he has failed.
