KSaw Verified Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 At this rate Adam Loewen is going to have to go back to pitching.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 News to me buys it's on the radio How concerning is this? What do they do now? oh man, repeat of 2012. No pitching depth. 0 pitching depth. ETA for McGuire to get called up?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 A source: @SNBarryDavis: Morrow, as reported by @ShiDavidi, is battling neck and back spasms and maybe pushed till Sunday. #bluejays may need a SP for Friday

So Bueherle (who pitched 100+ in his last start) will pitch on Saturday. Friday..... Man we need a waiver claim. We have no one in the minors. Deck McGuire? Sean Nolin? Joel Carreno? Wait, isn't Dave Bush pitching well for Bisons?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 Plus these 1-2 day things have a nasty habit of becoming 15 day DL stints Come in Morrow, get yourself together. Please. Hope it's minor minor minor.

Sparky12 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Man this rotation is in trouble with all the injuries, please hurry back Drabek, hutch , and dusty, would at least give us something exciting to watch. I have a bad feeling were gonna see some scrubs run out there.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 I'm sure he's fine. Well, at least I hope You double posted by the way lol Conveniently I have the super power of deletion Mwah ah ah ah ahhhhh
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 WTF!?! This is ridiculous. 2012 seems tame compared to what is happening so far. Maybe Dickey can pitch on short rest? We need Dickey to go every second day
Rajaifailedgrade1 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 We need Dickey to go every second day And give up 5+ earned runs each time?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 And give up 5+ earned runs each time? Preferably not...
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Take your pick for SP FA: Dallas Braden (29) Dustin Moseley (31) Jamie Moyer (50) Carl Pavano (37) Jonathan Sanchez (30) Randy Wolf (36)

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Randy Wolf was good two years ago. I'd rather give him a shot than some of the other garbage we have in the upper levels.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Take your pick for SP FA: Dallas Braden (29) Dustin Moseley (31) Jamie Moyer (50) Carl Pavano (37) Jonathan Sanchez (30) Randy Wolf (36) And ofcourse in Blue Jays land these are all better options then stretching out Cecil, Loup or Lincoln. Because - Brett Cecil can never return to his 2010 form even though he is throwing better than ever. Aaron Loup can't pitch 4 innings even though he has great control and has looked good in 3, and Brad Lincoln can't because... a few reasons. I understand these guys likely won't be good. But there's a chance for upside. Look at it this way the only chance to save the season is that someone surprises the heck out of us. Cecil or Loup or Brad Lincoln, or Adam Lind, or Kawasaki. Or that Jim Neirych (sp?) guy. Every move has to be made with regards to upside. This is a bad team with lots of good relievers. Who cares if we mess that up. What will we be left with?? A bad team with less good relievers. But that being said Jamie Moyer it should be. 25 years of proven experience in the starters role. Can't beat that. Mark Beurhle has reached about the same point at 35, so they can do bullpens together and figure out how to get hitters out without anything left.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Honestly, any of those guys would be a welcome site over Ramon Ortiz.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Morrow has back problem, may be scratched Brandon Morrow experienced back discomfort while throwing a side session Wednesday and will likely have his next scheduled start pushed from Friday to Sunday. That's what Blue Jays manager John Gibbons told MLB Network Radio on Thursday morning. It's unfortunate timing for Morrow, who had a pretty good outing last weekend against the Mariners. The Jays have all sorts of issues.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Roy Oswalt should have been signed before the season. Dude had a 3.27 xFIP last year and was pretty much begging for work. For a team with no SP depth to speak of, it made perfect sense. Of course AA was scared away by his ERA. ERA was too high bro. Dempster was 5.09 last year. He's a total bust.
bzapple Verified Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Lincoln is probably the best option if they want to make someone into a Carlos Villa type. Problem is Lincoln doesn't have a third pitch so he'd have to have very good command just to get through 5 innings.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 This could get pretty ugly if JJ can't come back by the end of May.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 I don't know if that's the problem or something else is, but these injuries are clearly forming a pattern and it needs to be addressed. conditioning coach is in charge of keeping them fit enough to play. stretching, training, massage, hot tub... it's all on him to keep them going. so far almost all the starters have had back spasms.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 It seems odd we have a tonne of injuries the last 2 years, is it bad preparation? Not enough work in spring training leading to strain when the season starts? (Might also explain terrible start?)
