I have been really impressed with Lind so far this season. His approach at the plate this season is 10x better than the approach he had for the past 3-4 years. Lind has earned the right to face lefties in Gibbons mind. Gibbons could have easily pulled him in the seventh inning yesterday for Davis but he stuck with him and Lind delivered. So, does that mean that Lind has earned the right to start vs a lefty? In my opinion, one start wont kill the Jays. If Lind struggles vs Moore, you always have a decent option in Davis waiting to pinch hit. I think that Lind has earned it.

Exactly. The only way you will find out if Lind is truly back to 09 form is if you give him atleast someatbats vs lefties.

A productive Lind is a big help to this lineup, as starter against righties and as a viable pinch hitter late in the game when a lefty starts.

Lind is a bench player on a normal team. Can't hit lefties to save life. OBP will regress. No power. Trade at highest possible value, however, no team wants him. Adam Lind cannot be your DH or 1B in the AL East if you are serious about winning.

 

AA needs to get rid of him ASAP.

 

You don't hit 30 + homeruns at this level and not have power, he has power he just has not hit well enough to to take advantage of his power.

Lind's a flawed player, but as long as the club has another guy who can crush lefties to pair with him he's very useful.

You can't have a guy in the AL EAST with an OPS in the 700's playing DH or 1B. YOU WILL NOT WIN. PERIOD.

 

Im not saying I like Lind, but you dont hit 30 + hr in the majors with no power, the issue is he has not been making enough good contact since to utilize his power, but I agree he cannot be relied on at this pojnt.

I agree in the years since 2009 he has been horrible at times, but now if he is playing well then praise him for that and stop referring to the past.

He's always been good against righties. He's just been miscast as an everyday player the last few years.

He's still the guy that started the year .138/.212/.207 through the first 11 games. I'm not sold he's turned the corner. I really would hope that he's realized that he needs to be patient to be effective though.

I think the Rajai/Lind platoon is a good thing. between the 2 off them they make 1 good ball player. too bad they take up 2 roster spots.

 

Boni has to be sacrificed to the baseball gods. he's the worst player on the team and yet he's a legend in his own lunch time.

DeRosa hasn't been that bad. as long as his appearances are limited, he's an ok bench option for now. at least DeRosa is not an error machine that cant hit like Boni.

Love your optimism but lets see what he does over a long stretch, I would love nothing more then to see him hit the ball well as I am sure everyone else would as well. Makes the lineup look a lot more dangerous when he is swinging a hot bat.
