43211234 Verified Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 That line for Castro is hilarious. 5 of the 6 balls in play were hits, an .833 babip. All the hits were singles, too.

baubau Verified Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I do not believe this is posted, but Norris, Graveman made first team all-star and Pompey second team. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/minor-league-star-team-2014/#.VAcpP1qIMlA I wish Kris Bryant had signed with us when we drafted him. ....and Paxton.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Borucki with 5 IP and 4Ks but is topping out at 88 MPH according to a guy on Twitter.Hes going to have to add a couple MPH if he wants to become a prospect.

He had the velocity before he got hurt. Touching mid 90's. It'll either come back or gone forever
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 He had the velocity before he got hurt. Touching mid 90's. It'll either come back or gone forever Going out on a limb here lol
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 He had the velocity before he got hurt. Touching mid 90's. It'll either come back or gone forever What are the chances it ever comes back to that when he is only throwing mid 80s this far removed from TJS?
baubau Verified Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 And Aaron Nola...and Luke Weaver. That said, Paxton or Syndegaard? Both. Sign Paxton and opt the pick on Sanchez for Syndergaard.
SJE32 Verified Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Guy on tweeter stated Charlie Caskey @CharlieCaskey · 15h #VanCanadians Borucki with first clean IP. FB only topping out at 88 now but change shows more movement and mixing in odd curve #BlueJays this was the 5th I believe. Now meaning it was higher before.
metafour Verified Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 A poster from BB who saw him earlier this year said he was sitting 89-92 but had excellent control/command and was able to throw it to both sides of the plate, as well as the pitch having good life down in the zone.
imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Just curious. Will the Midseason Top 30 prospects be updated soon?
abola2121 Verified Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Followed by Ghost of Gaston and 14 others Niall O'Donohoe @niall_odonohoe 15h Ryan Borucki gives up 2H then K's side on 84, 94 & 82 MPH pitches top 1. #VanCanadians #BlueJays #Jays pic.twitter.com/pk6nuWJ0Bp Embedded image permalink I think this tweet is more promising. The 94 part I like. Top lefty prospect post-Norris?
imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Top lefty prospect post-Norris? Matt Smoral
metafour Verified Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Top lefty prospect post-Norris? Labourt and Smoral.

He's the guy I would trust when it comes to velocity because he scouts the games sometimes and charts pitchers. On twitter he said the change was mostly flat and curve was average but that it wasn't his best outing.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Labourt and Smoral. It's probably Nolin, Labourt then Smoral
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I have only seen 1 video of Borucki but i have to say i like him a lot more then both Smoral and Labourt. The other 2 guys have such a big command issues it's really bothering to me.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Nolin isn't the top lefty prospect after Norris. He's getting up there in age. Smoral or Labourt. Labourt with that plus velocity is a Norris like step away from making to the high minors

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 A Norris step away is like a <5% chance though. No it isn't, when Labourt is on, he is Norris good. Plus fastball and a plus slider with even average control is a pretty good combo

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Fangraphs' prospect coverage is excellent, Kiley McDaniel is doing a phenomenal job
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I'm dumn lol easy mistake King, they should chop off the non-throwing arm to make this easier for people.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Van City lost the NWL championship last night losing the second game of the series 4-3 to Hillsboro. Smoral started the night wild and Hillsboro was able to capitalize.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 4 in a row would have been cool. Great season for Vancouver though, as always. It's a shame they didn't get better starting pitching in the championship series as you said 4 ina row would've been really cool. I am looking forward to 2015 and think they'll have a decent shot to win it again, at the very least they should have another decent rotation!
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Who's gonna be in the rotation? Pimp-foley, Evan Smith, Maybe Hoffman, Brentz, Patrick Murphy, Perdomo and Nick Wells plus draftees. Pick the best and go

Might be the best bat in the system barring any awakening in Nay's game or Rowdy tellez just killing it in full season ball
