Does anyone really expect Kang to amount to anything noteworthy? His stats in that league were nothing special and got just 11 million over 4 years

He was one of the top 3 hitters in the league. But then Thames was one of the other 3...

To KK: Nick Franklin, MiLB Pick #11, MiLB Pick #117

To z3r0s: Hector Rondon, MiLB Pick #5, MiLB Pick #59

I like Kat's side more, but only because I like Franklin. And I also have no idea who is available in this summer's upcoming draft.

And everytime I hear Franklin I think of this guy...

Noteworthy? Sure. I expect him to hit much like Thames did in his major league career (96 wRC+; low OBP high ISO).

That's definitely fantasy relevant for a SS eligible. Only 3 SS hit 20+ HR last year. Alexei Ramirez had a .713 OPS and he's your 5th ranked SS in Yahoo right now.

If Kang plays every day then I think he'll be fantasy relevant. If his defense isn't good then he won't play every day though. So I think that's the rub.

I'm not sure that I'd want to spend a super high waiver pick on him though. I guess it depends on team composition. Personally, I wouldn't have room right now for a flier like Kang so if I had a top 5 pick I'd probably grab a clozer or something.

Looking back at last year waiver draft, there was so much garbage taken. I don't think there were even a dozen players that were good enough that they are still owned.

And outside the top two, there really wasn't and link between pick # and quality of player taken. I think the 5th round was better than rounds 1/2 after Tanaka/Abreu.

Notes:

- As discussed, the rule about players needing to be in the Yahoo system in order to be waiver drafted will be maintained. Sorry, Hector Olivera fans.

- Going forward, international free agent players who were subject to international spending cap limitations will be treated the same as domestic prospects that did not hit AA in the previous season. So, they are not eligible to be waiver drafted even if they are in the Yahoo system, and they cannot be added to your MLB team unless they debut in the big leagues (in which case they will hit waivers). They can be drafted in the June prospect draft, of course.

- The waiver draft order is listed on Proboards -> Draft Picks -> 2015 Waiver Draft Order. It has been updated to reflect recent trades.

- Completed trades can now be posted and confirmed on Yahoo.

Dick was the steal of the draft.

Just if anyone is looking to fill a hole at SS, I'd be willing to trade Hanley or Aybar. First instinct says I'd be looking for either Major League pitching, or maybe prospects, but am open for anything. If you have any ideas send me a PM.

Are there even any closers available? Maybe if Soriano gets a gig...

Couple of currently penciled in veterans, and then several guys who should have firm holds on setup gigs.

sure it's great that Yahoo properly puts accents on their player names in their database, but allow for the anglicized version of the letter to get hits on it.

The trade history has been created. It's an Excel table with trade details that can be added to the Google Doc.

My eyes tell me that success has not been tied at all to trade activity. Correlation plz North.

Not directly, but going through it all you can tell that the bottom teams often make a certain type of trade, and the top teams often made a different certain type of trade.

I emailed you the file.

I'll send you edit privileges on the Google Doc, North, so that you can help curate the trade history going forward (if you want).

Thx. I added it to the league spreadsheet. I like this format - easily filterable.

Thanks. I'll maintain it.

It had to be in Excel to go with the Doc and I figured those headings would work.

I had to check out how Boxy ended up where he is. Lots of mistakes early on, but very shrewd moves since the Melky trade.
