Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Who do you think will? I haven't thought about it. Probably Gibbers.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I haven't thought about it. Probably Gibbers. I think I have the worst team. Don't know how I managed to finish 16th.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Im putting the second waiver pick OTB if anyone is interested in either Souza, Danny Santana of Joakin Benoit. Either looking to package it with something else for a pitcher, or a lower waiver selection and a prospect coming back

BTS Community Moderator Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Danny Santana? He was yours and you didn't protect him, right? (I have no idea, but that's what I'm getting from the spreadsheet)
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Danny Santana? You didnt keep him for whatever reason
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 You didnt keep him for whatever reason I think he probably could have had a decent return if he marketed him.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Danny Santana? SS/CF so should go high. #2 is too high for a guy with a projected wRC+ in the 80s though. Talent thins out in the first round so he should be top 15 or so.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Isn't Benoit owned? I could have sworn I traded him to someone for a 2nd round pick this offseason.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Isn't Benoit owned? I could have sworn I traded him to someone for a 2nd round pick this offseason. Yup, KK owns him and kept him (list posted here). He accidentally selected Dan Hudson as a keeper on Yahoo which lead to the oversight.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I think he probably could have had a decent return if he marketed him. Nobody wanted him.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 You didnt keep him for whatever reason Oh I know, though hearing that Santana could go 2nd overall baffles me. Nobody valued the guy when I was shopping him. His SS/CF eligibility and his SB potential makes him look nice, though don't think he posts that slash line again.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Reminder that our cutdown time is this Sunday, Feb 15th, at midnight. Before then you are all expected to: 1) Post your 20 MLB keepers on the ProBoards or the message board DDL thread so that a commissioner can process your cuts on the spreadsheet (you must also cut down to 12 prospects, but this only applies to 1 owner right now). 2) Select whichever of those 20 players you happen to own from last season's roster as 'keeper' players on Yahoo. Between the 15th and the 21st, you can add the rest of your keeper players, or the Darrells will. On the 22nd we will start the five round Rule 5 Draft (waiver draft). Windows will be 12 hours. Remember the following: - Only players that have been added to the Yahoo database prior to the beginning of the draft will be eligible. So if Hector Olivera signs an MLB deal on February 23rd, he is ineligible to be drafted and will be subject to waivers following the conclusion of the Draft. - Unowned prospects can be added to your MLB team in the Draft, but only if they've played at AA or higher. - At the conclusion of the Draft, Waiver Priority will be reset to the inverse of the previous year's standings. Post any questions about anything here Are we going to wait until the windows start, or could whomever is up pick if they like?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Still looking to deal Plouffe to someone not happy with their 3B situation (desperate more than unhappy I guess). Projected to be an average bat with some pop (and wow he was worth 3.5 WAR last year, who knew)

Laika Community Moderator Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Are we going to wait until the windows start, or could whomever is up pick if they like? We'll just start on Sunday. Not in any rush.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Are we going to wait until the windows start, or could whomever is up pick if they like? Whoever is at the top should probably wait for some Cubans to get sorted out.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Whoever is at the top should probably wait for some Cubans to get sorted out. Meh, the interesting ones have signed. Moncada won't be eligible.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Tomas slam dunk #1?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Tomas slam dunk #1? I'd probably prefer Kang. Some combo of those two and Souza in the Top 3, IMO.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Meh, the interesting ones have signed. Moncada won't be eligible. At the very top, sure. Is the deadline for players to become draft-eligible the first player being drafted or the windowed period starting?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Overall, it's the weakest waiver draft in recent memory. 2014: Tanaka, Abreu 2013: Ryu, Puig 2012: Darvish, Cespedes
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 At the very top, sure. Is the deadline for players to become draft-eligible the first player being drafted or the windowed period starting? As soon as the draft begins, new additions are frozen. Hence, we won't start early with Olivera on the verge of signing (and others).

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 They also have to be in the Yahoo database. So if Olivera signs today and he's not added to the database by Sunday, he can't be drafted?

Did Yahoo have the trophies in the Standings section last year? It's a nice touch and a statement that third place means something after all.
