Anyone interested in Crawford as an option at SS? I don't think I can justify using a keeper spot on him, but he's been playing pretty well this year. Might be a nice boost to someone struggling with shortstop.

If anyone has a closer available I'm interested in acquiring some saves.

I'll take Desmond Jennings if you really feel the need to drop him.

I don't know what you're talking about Darrell.

I'm calling up Sonny Gray, who is also on the trade block. Tanner Scheppers is also available to someone who needs holds or a young team looking to rebuild their BP.

Can Lyle Overbay f*** off? I'm thinking Mark Reynolds at Yankee Stadium will be at least replacement level for third base. That's if he actually gets playing time.

Big match between me and Silvergun with the Monte Carlo division title at stake.

I'm loving the divisional play idea. I've got a big match with Hurl this week, I might be able to clinch the Reuben with a big win.

Its not all bad. Polanco looks like a stud and you have some good guys in the low minors.

Yeah, I'm not that upset, as most of the injuries don't seem career threatening (or at least that's what they keep saying about Hultzen :s)

Noah is going to be a beast for you... a bittersweet beast

Graduated

Gerrit Cole - picked 1/10 in Feb draft.

Mike Zunino- picked 1/9 in Feb draft (On the DL).

Christian Yelich - picked 1/6 in Feb draft.

Handsome Jake - picked 4/64 in Feb draft.

Brad Miller - picked 5/90 in Feb draft.

Kolten Wong - picked 3/56 in Feb draft (Probably won't promote him until next season).

Prospects

Trevor Story - Bust season with A+ Modesto Nuts.

Corey Seager - Destroyed the Midwest League (A) with a 154 wRC+. Now is in High A ball.

Austin Hedges- Average if anything. Better real life asset than fantasy due to defensive value.

Ryne Stanek- Has not played yet. Scheduled to suit up with Hudson Valley Renegades (A) for Tampa.

Hunter Harvey - Pretty dominant in rookie ball. Recently promoted to the Orioles class A affiliate.

AJ Cole - Pretty excited about him. Career 4.44 K/BB ratio. 21 years old and off to an impressive start in the Eastern League (AA).

Domingo Santana - 21 and has a 132 wRC+ in AA. Alarming K rates but the power is impressive (.232 ISO).

Nick Kingham - 22 year old in AA. Pitched reasonably well in A+ before being called up to AA Altoona. Back of the rotation starter seems likely.

Alexis Rivera - Lottery ticket in Rookie ball.

Traded:

Wilmer Flores - Enjoying some success with the Mets after his recent promotion.

Jorge Soler - Put up a 127 wRC+ at A+ ball before suffering season ending injury.

You gonna be trying to re-stock the system at all in the offseason, or is this pretty much your MO?

I've never actually done this before, my other deep dynasty is a total rebuild filled completely with elite prospects that I have no intention of trading. I'll try to re-stock to some degree, but considering that I snagged Sonny Gray, Foltynewicz (traded for Beachy), and Miguel Almonte in the middle rounds, I don't think I'll be going out of my way to trade for high picks. I will probably sell off some keepable guys like Mike Morse, maybe Bourn, and some closers before the cutdown date for picks or prospects. Pretty much all my keepers are still in their mid-to-late 20s, so I don't see the need to re-stock the cupboard overnight. Not many teams have a young 1-2 like Jose Fernandez & Byron Buxton, so I think my future core is still looking pretty nice.

Graduated

Oswald Arcia: Crushed every minor league level he was at, including AAA ball at 22 and has a 110 wrc+ at the MLB level in almost 300 AB's.

Bruce Rondon: Struggled when he first came up but now a 2.77 FIP with 8.2 K/9

Allen Wesbterr - Struck out over 10/per 9 at AAA but struggled at the MLB level

Prospects

Jonathon Gray - Dominated every A and A+ start hes been in

Kris Bryant - Hasnt played that much outside of A ball

Zach lee- 4 k-bb ratio with a 3.12 FIP in AA ball

Andrey Heaney - DOminated when he hasnt been hurt

Lance Mccluers - Striking out 10/per 9 in A ball, but only 19

Mike Foltynewicz - Not that high on him but he seems to be in most top 50/75 lists. Someone could probably have him if they made a decent offer

Michael Choice - Has put up solid but not star numbers every level he has been out. Probably just outside most top 100 lists, in the 110-115 range.

Matt Barnes- Bit old as a 23 yr old in AA ball, but hes striking everyone out there at least with 11.5K/9. Pretty much believe in him because of the Law praise

Victor Roache- 20 homers in first full A ball season, but he's old for the level and pretty underwhelming.

Other rooks with no much expereince who seem to be holding their own in A or AA ball

Yeah, it will be tough to get much for those players, we'll probably just get late rounds picks from rebuilding teams that don't plan on using them. There will be a lot of decent relievers in the waiver draft, at least. Abreu, MAG, and Butler could be there too.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the market is like this summer with everyone wanting to get value for guys that are keepable but not in their plans. I'll be looking to move Hunter and maybe a young starter but everyone will be looking to get under 20 keepers.

I'm also curious to see how everyone shrinks their farms down going into next year's MiLB draft. There are 9 guys I want to keep and 3 I'll just throw away. I had 5 picks that were all reasonably high, so I'm trying to sell off a few. I don't want to have to force promotions and waste valuable big league roster spots if my guys are still far away. It's tricky.

Byron Buxton - Draft 1/17 in Feb, #1 prospect in baseball

Gary Sanchez - Drafted 2/24 in Feb, traded in Ryan Zimmerman trade

Lucas Giolito - Drafted 3/57 in Feb, traded in Shields trade

Jake Marisnick - Drafted 4/64 in Feb, traded in Asdrubal/Cishek trade

Yordano Ventura - Drafted 5/97 in Feb, traded in Shields trade

Richie Shaffer - Drafted 6/104 in Feb, bust

Sonny Gray - Drafted 3/55 in June, just called up

Miguel Almonte - Drafted 4/70 in June, borderline Top 50 prospect

Mike Foltynewicz - Drafted 5/83 in June, traded in Beachy/Rasmus deal

Trevor May - Drafted 6/111 in June, possible mid-rotation starter, solid K rate in AA

I also flipped Melky for Dempster, a pick (Gray) and DeShields, who I flipped for Heaney and Glasnow (both Top 50 midseason). Heaney was also shipped out in the Beachy deal.

Byron Buxton - Draft 1/17 in Feb, #1 prospect in baseball

You're welcome.

Personally though, I think I have Buxton #4 behind OT and Xman and Correa.

Correa and Buxton are going to go for ALOT in The League's auction next year.

Sidenote: Poor NJH (I'm sorry).

Posted

I dont know if I should thank you or discredit you for encouraging Nicky to take Zunino (well) ahead of Buxton.

I'm going to slap the wallet hard for Buxton in that auction. Be prepared to top my entire budget if you want him.

I could have sworn I drafted Jake Marisnick.

Yup. Most of my top prospects now were acquired through trade. The key guys I drafted in February graduated a while back (Cole, Miller) or were traded (Flores, Soler).

2013 and 2014 Min> 2013 and 2014 Dinger, In my humble opinion.

I'd be happy to debate this too.

After the guys start to graduate though, I'm toast. I'm sad I don't have Mr. Correa anymore.

Posted

Also, as a tooting of own horn, since I traded for Prado (June 15) he has slashed 322/375/505 for an 880 OPS, with 7 HR's and a couple steals. All for a couple of middling starters in AA (Barnes and Zach Lee). Sorry Gryffindor! Josh Donaldson for later round pick downgrade was a steal too.

In full disclosure, worst trade by far came at the hands of Dinger... Ryu for Grandal. I figured Ryu was bound for some regression, and I liked Grandal as a possible catcher of the future. Yikes.

It's going to be interesting to see how you turn your roster over. Going into next year, your desirable players under 30 are Donaldson, Jones, Stanton, Samardzija and maybe Salty. Combine that with (IMO) a bottom-3 farm, and you're in a pretty bad place probably after 2014, but maybe even next year with a boxy-esque firesale looming.

And haha Salty, no need to be overly generous to the guy with no future! I'm f***ed probably, but rebuilds can be fun, and flags are even more fun.

Wow, Donaldson for a late-round pick looks like a steal. Dude has been raking since his recall last year. A 27-year old who can provide a a 141 wRC+ from 3B is no joke.

I really wanted to get him from you in our Lynn talks.

The only thing that matters between you and me right now is Patrik Berglund. All other issues are tertiary.

The more I digest that deal the better I feel about it, which obviously isn't always the case. I'm pretty excited about the two guys I got. Especially Klein.

They both were UFA's for me who couldn't be resigned. Gorges over Klein, Perry over Val. I inherited a clusterf*** of a contract situation. Something had to give. I'm hoping I just got a 25 y/o Tomas Plekanec.

Isn't there a way for everyone to be happy?
