I've only played on Yahoo before. And I'd rather keep the current leagues on there. But I'd be up for joining another league on ESPN maybe or somewhere else just to try it out.

If you need holds, I'm interested in doing a pick upgrade. One of my picks + a reliever for a better pick. Same type of deal would go for prospects.

Scott Downs, Sam LeCure, Darren O'Day, and Luis Avilan are all available and have 15+ holds.

In my desperation to get as much as info about my back end prospects in deciding which one im going to cut, I gave a bleacher report article post rule 4 draft a quick glance to see if they had anything helpful. Third slide, a write up about Sanchez with Nolin's picutre.

I had a major brain fart and picked up Danny Salazar in the DDL...dropped him now, but my bad on that.

I don't think I've ever had a team get hit this hard by the DL train. Currently 10 on the DL counting Quentin + one DTD player + one NA that I figured would be a full time starter by now.

I get so paranoid about that when I see a pitcher in the free agents that says he debuted in 2013. I'm honestly surprised I haven't accidentally added someone else's property yet.

Same here. I usually do a search in page on the league home page for the name of any new guy to check against the owned prospects lists but I still get nervous. There are so many little known guys who are owned that you can't make any assumptions on availability and a simple spelling variation would be enough to make you mess up.

only site I have that tracks all prospects (even has undrafted high school guys in the system) is CBS...but it's a pay site.

I've been in a CBS league for years and I'd say it's worth the cost if only because it lest you maintain your farm roster in one place. I wouldn't say the interface is better than Yahoo! per say but it's definitely good and the player updates are much more frequent. I'm always going back to my CBS league to get info on the players I'm scouting in Yahoo! You get a way better idea of how long DL stints will be, how players will be used, etc. It has Gameday Audio integration which adds some value to offset the cost. I'd much rather fork up the cash and migrate to a CBS league than move to ESPN which is at very very best a lateral move.

Apparently a CBS Commissioner league costs $150 total if you buy it during the pre-pay promotional period, which is $7.5 each for 20 teams. I'd definitely be willing to pay that.

I've played in a CBS football league before and thought it was inferior to both ESPN and Yahoo, but that was a while ago and wasn't their special Commissioner product. It seems like they do have a lot of cool features.

If I remember correctly, a subscription to Gameday Audio is 10$/year so that would more than offset the cost and it's a pretty cool thing to have. I use it to listen to day games while I'm at work.

One of the best tools would be the trade interface. You can actually offer trades to other owners that incorporate farm players. You might even be able to do picks but I play in an auction league so that doesn't apply to my current setup so that would have to be researched.

The one thing I have always wanted but has never happened (irrelevant for this league, though) is the ability to in draft trades. I'm sure that's a long way away, but its one of my "dream features"

If anyone is looking to sell a SP and reload for next year, I have some solid young arms available: Sonny Gray, Foltynewicz, Miguel Almonte, Tyler Glasnow, Andrew Heaney, and my 1st rounder.

Should we do some kind of a fundraiser to pay for it (I can run one that gives us a $300 balance in about 3 days)? I know I could pay for my other league and get the second league discount as well. I love the hitter vs. pitcher match-up stats being right there when you set your lineup as well. Yahoo is so simple because so many people run multiple leagues out of there but if people are willing to change I'd be up for it.

I'm looking for pitching and I still have few young ones to trade. Nicolino, Blackburn, Fullmer, Rodriguez are all available. My picks are available as well.

I've been looking for weeks too. It seems all the available pitching was sold in May/June and I'm kicking myself for not getting somebody then.

I'm kicking myself for selling off Samarjiza, Weaver, and Iwakuma back then. May have been able to get more for them now.

From those 3 I turned them into: Carlos Gomez, Tyler Skaggs, Brett Lawrie, and the 8th Overall pick. Makes me wonder what I could have gotten for them now.

I would still listen in on offers for David Price, though I really haven't been convinced yet into moving him. Now he's healthy and pitching in top form, so I would expect offers to be a lot stronger this time around then they were in May. Likely won't move him, though if I get an offer I can't refuse, then he can be moved.

Also, could move guys like Phil Hughes, Brandon McCarthy. Hughes has always had solid peripherals and his ERA should be more close to the low 4's rather than the high 4's. He's still only 27.

In fairness to Boxy, Odorizzi was in that trade too. In the end I traded Lester, Odorizzi, Gary Sanchez and a 1st for Jose Fernandez. I don't know if that's a lot or not, I'd have given up almost anything to land Fernandez.
Posted
Odorizzi's no different from some of the free agent pitching prospects that have been picked up. I recently grabbed Ethan Martin and Bret Oberholtzer who are just as good. This isn't a knock on Boxy as the players involved haven't changed since then - it's a reflection of the market. It took a while for us collectively to come to terms with how much prospects/picks were worth.

Probably a fair statement. I definitely intended to strike early before the market developed.

Poll: Which package would you take?

1) Ryan Zimmerman + Jon Lester

2) Matt Wieters + Clint Frazier

I get #1 from a win-now perspective.

Posted
At least Zimmerman is a lot better than Matt Wieters.

I don't even think Matt Wieters is an above average fantasy C. I told Gibbers that at the time and I stand by it. I offered Buxton+ for Harvey for the record.

Posted

Trading with Gibbers is tough, because he has very particular tastes. No matter what you offered (see: Buxton, Brian) it may not have been of interest to him.

The Fernandez deal on the other hand... I wish I had knows that was what was up.

Last I heard, the price on Price was Buxton ++, so you better be prepared to pay the man.

For a perennial Cy Young contender every season who's still only 27, I'd expect a package to knock my socks off. You were very close to acquiring Price at the time I must admit, it's just you weren't willing to part with both Pineda and Ventura if I'm not mistaken. I was also throwing Mariano in the deal as well, so it's not like I was giving you just Price alone - you were getting an elite top 5 closer this season as well. I'm sure if Price was healthy and pitching like he is now, a deal similar to what we had discussed likely would have happened. It was just bad timing with Price on the DL.
