I feel like my perceived interest in a player is always bigger if I ask out of the blue, and it shifts leverage. I'm not sure I've ever made a deal for someone I asked about unsolicited, so I stopped doing it.

Yeah, that's a thing... with some owners. You know who you are! Luckily we have pricks like NJH, who are straightshooters that don't change their valuation of a player on a whim.

Direct asks rarely turn into trades, but it's more like you put out tentacles and then every so often that owner will circle back to you with something similar.

Carlos Correa unseats Trout for the #1 spot in Cameron's trade value series. He's probably #2 for dynasty purposes in fantasy?

I still think it's Harper and there's a bit of a gap. He projects for a wRC+ around 150 and Correa lags behind at ~135.

Per 600 PAs

Corey Seager: 164 H, 23 HR, 94 R, 70 RBI, 4 SB, .308/.380/.514, 142 wRC+

Carlos Correa: 152 H, 26 HR, 78 R, 94 RBI, 11 SB, .288/.366/.500, 135 wRC+

Strictly speaking, in our 7x7 H & OBP format, Correa might not even be the #1 dynasty SS.

I've always argued in favour of Seager, so you don't have to convince me. Correa likely has the bigger power/counting stats upside.

Hits are a counting stat in our format, so I don't necessarily agree. Hits is the category that everyone sleeps on, but Seager is potentially an annual 200 H guy. RBI & R are virtually a wash, slight HR edge to Correa. SLG is a wash. OBP and H edge go to Seager, Correa has a very minimal advantage in SB, which isn't really a category worth banking for either player. If these guys switched stadiums it would be a very different story.

Did P2F post that they were available? I had been waiting for him to announce that they were on the block because I was interested in both.

I've asked about both numerous times

I think I'd put Harper 4th.

Trout

Correa

Seager

Harper

Pretty much comes down to home park between the two shortstops for me.

I've never regretted a trade so fast.

Other than acquiring Puig for TreaT. And trading for Michael Brantley. Oh and dealing Scherzer.

Guys, just FYI I'm listening to the BP dynasty list podcast and they call Victor Robles "Roe-bulls"... so... um... there's that.

It's one thing to suck at your job, but it's another to make no effort to improve or actually learn how to pronounce the names.

I like the Samardzija return a lot more than the Cueto return.

I offered more for a postmortem Michael Pineda. Okay not more but I'm not a Pham-atic.

He's not as much fun to include (and he's ancient at 27) but the difference between Altuve and the next 2B (Murphy and Cano) puts him in this discussion. He's now like his last 1500 PA's as a 150 wRC+ I don't see him dropping back to his projections. Just realized that Jose Ramirez has another year of eligibility at 2B at least. Put him in there too

I'd still take Correa over Seager in dynasty, despite the career numbers being similar so far. It's close, though I think Correa has more upside overall, especially with playing in a better ballpark.

Edit.

Tough to disagree with that list. I'd probably move Harper higher if he can put up his 2015 & 2017 numbers moving forward every season. After those 4, I would say its Bryant, Arenado and Altuve.

SHOULD HE HAVE DONE IT!?

Hey nick,

This trade has been rejected in The Darrell Dynasty (3286).

Giancarlo Stanton

Eric Thames

Michael Pineda

to The Butt Stallions

Evan Longoria

Scott Schebler

Carlos Correa

to Gryffindor

Comments from Gryffindor:

This looks pretty bad for me

(mid April)

(I agree with his decision to reject it in context of course)

Id still pass on it. I traded Pineda for Justin Turner and Schebler and Longo are easily the two worst players of that deal.

Is Schebler easily worse than Thames? He's four years younger and Thames has been running a 100 wRC+ since April. Need to see Thames readjust to the league now that they've adjusted to him.

Pineda's fantasy value just got zeroed out, he's the least valuable by far.

It's funny how quickly these pitchers can have no value at all. Even when they eventually come back. Who finds Lance Lynn attractive right now?

Alex Cobb too

Anyone remember the corpse of Tyson Ross? Looks like his younger brother is heading in the same direction before he even established himself.
