It actually makes a lot of sense. They've been struggling with the closer spot for years, need to win now, and would see Osuna as a long-term solution. Would love to see it happen.

Just drop Parker and Williams and activate CarGo. Then we can process it easier.

Still hoping to move Chatwood. He's rosterable on the road so basically he's half a starting pitcher (or 3/4 counting the times you might punt your ratios). Just looking for a minor pick upgrade.

You can propose it, but there's no way that rule will pass lol. You can just keep your unsigned prep guy, his timeline won't be drastically different anyway. Sometimes you get Karsten Whitson, sometimes you get Kris Bryant or James Paxton. That's just the chance you take when you draft a prep guy who wants a big bonus.

I'd vote against this. I feel there'd be ways to game that system that would be against the spirit of the rules. Like if someone had a high pick, and the draft was pretty weak and flat, they could just draft one of those guys that have 0% chance of signing and pick up a high pick in a possibly stronger draft.

You'd be better off proposing to move the draft date until after the signing period. You could still draft those players then (in this league), but at least you'd know what you were getting into.

I'm not much a fan of that idea, the midseason lists have dropped by then and I like our setup of forcing you to do your own homework.

 

I'd also like to add that taking our lead from BORED would be completely unacceptable, and I am opposed to it on principle.

I understand why JF is annoyed and he should be but it's not like a deferred pick is objectively better than just keeping the unsigned player. They are kind of just deferring their pro development by a small amount anyway.

True, but in real life teams have some control over that. You're at the mercy of both other parties, and have no say in it. The viewpoint is totally valid though.
