Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 2016 Waiver Lottery Team C - Matt Wieters 1B - Carlos Santana 2B - Brett Phillips 3B - Anthoney Rendon SS - Eugenio Suárez CF - Carlos Gomez OF - Carlos Stanton OF - Adam Jones DH - Delino DeSheilds BN - Adonis Garcia BN - Michael Taylor SP - Stephen Strasburg SP - Carlos Martinez SP - Julio Teheran SP - Joe Ross SP - Jerad Eickhoff SP - Jesse Hahn SP - Alex Wood SP - Doug Fister Clozer - Steve Cishek Clozer - Fernando Rodney Clozer?/Holder? - Jumbo Diaz Holder - Yimi Holder - some Pittsburg guy SP elg Holder - Alex Colome lolol
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I'm gonna roll like this: C - Cervelli, maybe Contreras at some point 1B - Miggy 2B - Cano 3B - Wright/Valencia SS - J.P. Crawford soon I hope/Flores in the meantime CF - Ellsbury/Revere OF - Bautista OF - Alex Gordon DH - Pujols BN - Valencia, Revere, Flores SP1 - Sale SP2 - Bumgarner SP3 - Rodon IMO SP4 - Kazmir SP5 - Jaime SP6 - Dickcheese CL1 - Familia CL2 - Street CL3 - Papsmear HL1 - Watson HL2 - O'Day HL3 - Dyson I should be able to mix and match my bullpen nicely to counter whoever I'm facing, ie roll with only 1 or 2 closers vs teams who have punted saves and use more holds guys instead, and vice versa.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Dinger can't quit Ben Revere.

Interesting, you're team isn't as heads and tails above mine as I thought... Still stronger, but I have advantages at C, 3B, SS, CF and Util. Rotation is stronger at the top, but it's not a massive advantage, and my bottom half is stronger. Advantage in the pen to you, but it's not huge.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Dinger can't quit Ben Revere. Ben Revere is very underrated in this format IMO. Big-time contributor in H, R, SB, adequate in OBP. He really only hurts you in SLG, but not even in a Billy Hamilton kinda way.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Somewhere between 10-20: C- R. Martin 1B- M. Texiera 2B- D. Travis (hopefully not too much on DL) SS- F. Lindor 3B- P. Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I thought your rotation was better then that? You probably just think that because I dominated all the pitching categories last year.

BTS Community Moderator Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Dinger will certainly be trading 2-3 of his best prospects for an SP2 this year.

Advantage in the pen to you, but it's not huge. We are certainly seeing the beginning of the end of the juggernaut that was LOB. Miggy moving off 3B forced me to trade one of Pujols/Ortiz, and I moved Braun to shore up my future at SS. My SP depth is the same as last season, which was more than adequate. What I lack in SP depth in the 6-7-8 spots I make up for with an above average bullpen and 400 elite IP at the top of the rotation.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 This team is better than BTS lol, no

Oh your team is fine, still the second best in the league for this year. I was just pleasantly surprised at how we stacked up, and I thought you had another Ace also.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Dinger will certainly be trading 2-3 of his best prospects for an SP2 this year. That's possible, sure, although I don't think it's absolutely necessary. I have some guys who could emerge this year and be mid-rotation options, like Fulmer, Montas, Flaherty and Kaprielian, each of whom is either a Top 100 prospect or on the cusp, depending on which site you prefer. I could end up packing some of them with Contreras if an opportunity opens up.

TRM Verified Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Sleep on Rodon at your own peril. Lol, you're probably right. I'd take my top four over yours though, for this year.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Oh your team is fine, still the second best in the league for this year. You guys all voted me the best team the last 3 years and I couldn't seal the deal, so maybe 2nd in the PRs is where I need to be.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 If only Greg Bird hadn't died I'd be looking a bit better. I'm hoping to comfortably avoid the lottery this year. I aim high, I know.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Lol, you're probably right. I'd take my top four over yours though, for this year. Debatable IMO. Sale >> Felix at this point Bumgarner >/= Harvey, talent level is equal but Bumgarner has a fantastic record of consistency and health Rodon < Cueto, although maybe not, and as a dynasty asset I prefer CR Kazmir = Samardzija, although Kazmir was MUCH better in 2015 It's nice for you that Cueto and Shark both landed in a great park, though.

Sale >> Felix at this point Bumgarner >/= Harvey, talent level is equal but Bumgarner has a fantastic record of consistency and health Rodon < Cueto, although maybe not Kazmir = Samardzija, although Kazmir was MUCH better this year I missed Shark, for someone reason I thought Jaime was your 4. Yours is better, but I'm anticipating good things for Shark in San Fran, and Felix is not two greater than signs weaker than Sale. Also Sale is kinda probably gonna break.

Yours is better, but I'm anticipating good things for Shark in San Fran, and Felix is not two greater than signs weaker than Sale. Also Sale is kinda probably gonna break. Felix is coming off a 3.70 FIP and a late-season shutdown, with 2200 IP already on his arm. FB is down to 91.8 MPH. I actually think he's at least as likely to break as Sale.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Felix looks like a guy about to break down. Sale is far better at this point IMO.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I'd take Shark over Kaz but that's mostly due to bitterness over his s***ing the bed down the stretch for me.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I'd take Shark over Kaz but that's mostly due to bitterness over his s***ing the bed down the stretch for me. Yeah, Kazmir was bruuuuutal down the stretch. But the again, Shark was brutal all year. I think they are both viable SP3s in this format and strong SP4s.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Felix looks like a guy about to break down. Sale is far better at this point IMO. There are just SO many miles on that elbow. He's a 29 year old with the mileage of a 34 year old.

I'd also agree with all of these except I think Cueto will be much better than Rodon unless he gets his command together. Guy like him can really tank your K/bb on his bad days.
