Doesn't seem too bad at first glance, Canes get the best player in the deal and the Flames get a lot of upside.

They traded away Conor Sheary to get rid of Hunwick's contract just to sign Jack Johnson, who is possibly worse than Hunwick. This is hilarious.

NHL Free Agent Frenzy kicks off at 12pm EST today.

 

Still no word on John Tavares' destination, although the fact that he didn't extend with the Islanders is a pretty good indication that he's done there.

 

San Jose and Toronto believed to be the 2 front runners now. That said, watch him sign with Ottawa.

What D-man does that actually get you? They asked for way more for OEL. Dubas is the best thing the Leafs have going for them...he's got to stick to his plan.

 

I honestly don't know the answer to this...what is the Leafs cap situation in 2 years? Is this like the Blackhawks where they have to re-shuffle the 3rd and 4th line every time time they are due a raise?

Maybe it's because I'm on a VIA train but Leaf fans appear to be shutting down the internet. Leafs Cap Friendly won't load. NHL betting futures sites wouldn't either. Twitter...same thing. It's been a long time since BJMB is the best loading site for me

From what I understand, Leafs will not be able to afford all of Matthews, Nylander, Marner along with the commitments they already have. Perhaps Nylander will be moved for a higher priced d-man with an expiring contract, along with draft compensation. Would set up the Leafs for a serious cup run next season
