    Manoah hasn't developed at all since being drafted. Just fastball slider, same as day 1. No 3rd pitch, no added velo, not in any better shape. Nothing.

    We're at the just try harder stage. You can't just try harder and hit 99 mph pitches with crazy induced vertical break and sinkers with seam shifted wake if you have a bat angle that is not optimized for these pitches. That's where the sport is right now. You can maybe field better if you're in shape or have guys playing the right positions. But this sport has evolved so far past the just try harder thing. There are certain things players literally cannot do.

    I thought he was good for us. He was limiting hard hit, ev, xwoba. And had options. Then we just cut him out of nowhere. Just seemed senseless. Don't care that much but I just get perplexed by the process of our decisions sometimes.

    The problem is they don't want Springer to touch CF. So while signing KK was smart, his health is not bankable. So the appeal with Varsho was the ability to play CF. Of course, we don't have a CF anywhere in the organization (somehow) and these type of shortcomings enter our acquisition strategy.

    Vlad has the 67th most WAR in baseball for the period he's been in the MLB, sandwiched between Teoscar Hernandez and Whit Merrifield.

    Varsho's bat sucks. Everyone can see that now and before the trade. Terrible bat path, no EV. His tools are speed and D but he's playing LF so..

    I'm a die hard Jays fan but our team building is AA level unsustainable or even moreso because nowadays AA pulls prospects out of his ass. We were supposed to be getting the guy that built like the Os are building now and all we got was discount double check AA. Makes good major league transactions to band aid and band aid and band aid.

    Yes some AA SPs are ripping huge fastballs and coming back to earth in AAA stuff wise like Abbott did. They still might be good but hard to get a good read.

    Yes it's hyperbole but we're really far behind man. It's hard to be excited about the future.

    The Rays picked up Diekman and now he throws a literal unknown pitch according to Savant and they must have done this with machine learning AI or something. We are f***ed gents just accept it. I'm pretty sure they just use machine learning to evaluate the biomechanics of players. They assign dollar amounts to specific physical traits on players and don't even look at a single result based metric. And we sign guys based on innings pitched.

    Eovaldi could lose 20% of his stuff and basically pitch hurt like he did at the end of last year and have more in the tank than Bassitt.

    Mozeliak trying to shift the blame for how s*** their pitching is. There's no way a catcher can struggle with game calling nowadays. As if game calling can even make a huge difference either. 75% of pitchers are fastball/slider.

    Can you imagine Atkins finding Jorge Lopez off the scrap heap, let alone finding him then making him an allstar then trading him for Cano and Povich.
