    It could just be that they thought he was on the right track and he could build on it up here because we have no one else to take the ball. If we had a #6 somewhere they probably would have let him stay down and work a little more. Because we're still trying to win games and a 60% Manoah might actually be better than the alternative.

    Sad to see these upstart teams like the Dbacks and Reds roll out slop in their rotation like Davies and Weaver. Too scared to make even a tiny move. Gasp it might be too soon to try to win now..

    Bellinger has become a dead pull hitter like a prime Didi Gregorius or something that's why he is outperforming. It's better to hit a cheap pull fly ball then barrel to oppo, its just a fine line to walk. Like I'd rather have this Bellinger than prime Castellanos hitting 5 barrel outs a week to dead CF at Comerica.

    Feels like bad teams can't even stumble into good players anymore. It's all about being programmed properly by your organization. The sport has become so technical and information based. I could be wrong but the bad teams just seem to be at such a disadvantage. Of course that's why the league is trying to cap front office spending now. When organizations can use tracking software to find tells on pitchers and give it to their 40 FV hitter, he's going to outperform the Royals or Rockies 60 FV. Just feels like a different game right now.

    Well we all got sold a bunch of s*** by Atkins and Shapiro about development and sustainability and blah blah. AA is s***. You shouldn't do things that way. We come from CLE, just watch all the pitching we'll have blah blah. So some people are still stuck on that 7 years later and were really excited to have what they thought was a progressive FO. Meanwhile the first pick was Zeuch and we still got DUI Pete Walker. Does anyone really think Pete Walker is keeping up with some of these organizations? Personally I was cautiously optimistic but I was optimistic. I mean they came from CLE right? Well it's been obvious that they're just about bang average and my optimism has waned considerably. And if you keep up with baseball trends you'd see BAL was coming fast and I said this last year. Our process is not up to the level of TB and BAL. Like I'm sorry, neither of those teams would give even 12M to Bassitt. If you give a guy with that stuff 20+M AAV you're just clueless.

    He got 1 war from Hicks off the scrap heap already. This is what he said “We have stuff that we look at from a scouting and evaluation perspective that, as I’ve said before, it’s very different from looking at the back of a baseball card. We hope that we get a bounce back from anyone that we bring in here.” “You may not get a great outcome on everything, but we see stuff with Aaron Hicks that we like, and it feels good like a good fit for us. I hope this is a shot in the arm for him, and I hope he helps us out and helps us win some games.” I don't know what you could be looking at that would say Hicks is gonna rake. Maybe magic.

    The Os are run by the smartest guys from HOU. They're a completely different organization. Our only hope is their cheap ass owner. Which is a legitimate hope.

    It comes down to what you value in a front office because lots of teams can just sign the best SP available. Does that make them good? Here's my take on Atkins in a nutshell. Traded Teo, our cleanup hitter. In a vacuum it's smart right? We got a good reliever, which was a need. But why can't we just find Erik Swanson ourselves instead. Why do we always have to pay real stuff for these guys? We made 2 deals with LAD for 6th starter types. One didn't hurt us (Kendall Williams) but one really might (Frasso). We can't be in year 7 or whatever and not have a 6th starter still. It's insane. At some point it will become untenable.

    I would say league average. Upper 3rd is pushing it.

    He has a lot of good MLB moves but my problem is they're all band aid moves to mask our terrible player development.
