  1. If we are solidly in a wild card game but quite far back in the division, then there’s no real reason to make a big move. If we are fighting to just get into the playoffs like last year, then there is.
  2. This isn’t representative but it seems like every time I look at a Yankees box score they are winning by one run and being out hit. Same tonight.
  3. Oh I agree with that. Anyone can beat anyone in the playoffs. I’m worried about the pen during the regular season.
  4. I don’t know about the decision not to put him on and set up the DP, but I’ll take it!!!!!
  5. Boston seems a bit smoke and mirrors pitching wise but TB are legit both starters and pen.
  6. I don’t know, I do worry about the pen. You are one 5 game losing streak from this being interesting playoffs wise.
  7. I’m not super happy that the orioles have a better pen than us. That’s a failure whatever way you look at it.
  8. He’s also just coming back from injury. I don’t know, I really don’t get it. We planned to have a mediocre bullpen that doesn’t get many Ks. That’s how our bullpen projected. Why are we surprised and blaming it on the manager?
  9. He has to deploy the resources, sure. But if the resources aren’t that good bad things can happen. That’s kind of the point. I do think Charlie could get guys quicker but that honestly happened so fast with 2 outs that i can see why he didn’t. However, the larger point remains. We CHOSE to have a mediocre bullpen when it comes to swing and miss. That leads to stuff like this happening occasionally. That being all on the manager is f***ing dumb. It’s an org choice.
  10. This is always insane to me that the manager gets blamed for that. Garcia was our marquee signing in the off-season for the pen. We put basically zero resources into the pen. We traded slop for cimber and Richards last year. This is a front office thing. They decided that high velo swing and miss isn’t important enough to invest in. They might be right but that was their choice.
  11. If Garcia can’t pitch to mountcastie, cut him.
  12. Our pen isn’t good enough. It wasn’t good enough last year either. I see the process behind it. Don’t put too much resources into it, but it would be nice to have as many guys as the orioles with velo coming out of the pen. Like seriously, our pen is so f***ing mediocr and it leads to nights like tonight.
  13. Do we have the 4th or 5th best pen in the system when it comes to velo and stuff? It seems like it .
  14. Jesus Christ, the orioles have 5 hits and 4 runs. Unbelievable.
  15. Ugh, hate this honestly. Charlie’s key weakness to me is always letting guys go too long.
  16. Yea, time for a reliever next inning. None of this ‘let him go til he gets one on’ ********.
  17. I agree with you here. I’d take every opportunity to start biggio against soft tossers. They are only carrying two catchers.
  18. He’s went big when it made sense and we had a real need, and even then he went big in starting pitching and not the bullpen. Last year, we needed to improve and win a high percentage of games to get in. That requires a big move. If we are solidly in at the deadline, I don’t see a big move coming.
  19. Holy f***, it’s teo’s DH day. Moreno can’t start unless he can play corner outfield. How hard is this to understand…
  20. So, why does every team lose at least 60 or so games a year including a sizeable number against ‘bad’ teams? You seem to have the secret. Are teams calling you all the time and you just have other things going on?
  21. I mean, that’s just not how baseball works. It just isn’t. You can’t just click your fingers and sweep bad teams. No team does that consistently.
  22. Beasley has a good stuff number last time I looked at that sheet. Probably why they stick with him. Matt gage are good as well over a short sample.
