  1. Yeah, Lawrence is a "long man" but why should that matter if he f***ing sucks? lol Pretty baffling call up with Pop and Merryweather apparently healthy and ready. I'd even rather see any of Hernandez, Eisert, Gage, Saucedo or Thornton ahead of Lawrence too.
  2. Small sample size of 62 ABs but Gabriel Martinez is putting up better numbers at high than low A so far. Had a double and a homer today, OPS over 1.000
  3. Exactly. I posted this a few posts up. Massive underperformance from three key core players that no one expected when the season started. That's really the difference. Now the question is will they bounce back next season and beyond?
  4. Missing the playoffs would be brutal, especially with the extra WC, but I wouldn't be overreacting and firing anyone just yet. There was some pretty big career years last season, but now this season some of the players might be having abnormally unproductive seasons, and nobody on the roster is having a surprisingly "good" season save for maybe Gausman, but even he has been unlucky as hell when it comes to final results. Vlad at 2.9 fWAR? Bo at 2.3 fWAR? Berrios at 0.5 fWAR? The team is set up for a 2 year run as it is right now (with some off season tweaking). I'd let that play out and hope that the players can make the necessary adjustments, along with a couple of tweaks on the roster that will hopefully vault them to legit contender level. If they haven't found success after the 2023 season, then I'd be looking to make some major changes from top to bottom.
  5. Might as well burn his few healthy innings in AAA haha
  6. I've gotten to the point where I keep forgetting about Pearson lol Maybe one of these years he will stay healthy and surprise the s*** out of all of us by being a key contributer.
  7. I'd say the Jays are well on their way to having a very deep team next year. The bullpen is really deep now and they won't lose anyone but Phelps, plus guys like Juenger and Hernandez will likely be contributors. The only starter they lose is Stripling, unless they bring him back and guys like Zulu and Tiedemann should be debuting next season while lurking in AAA as strong depth. Position players will all be back too, and the only bench guy without control is JBJ. So all the starters, plus utility guys like Espinal, Biggio and Merrifield in the fold and they still have the 3 deep catching monster at their disposal to utilize uow they see fit. So the only real weakness going into next season is the rotation, but it will at least stillbe anchored by Gausman and Manoah at the top. Then you need Berrios refind his consistency and fill the last two spots from White, Kikuchi, Zulu, Tiedemann, free agency or trade. Pretty good spot to be in if you ask me, going into next season. Hopefully they make it this season though, and make some noise in the playoffs. Don't want another missed playoffs hanging over the teams heads weighing them down.
  8. Merryweather, Pop, Juenger and Hernandez all pitched for Buffalo today. Combined they had 5 IP, 0 runs, 1 hit, 3 BBs, 6 Ks Got some bullpen depth now it seems (although I realize Juenger and Hernandez have never pitched in MLB yet) One more dicey outing from Kikuchi and they should probably end that experiment because we clearly have better options in AAA
  9. It's nice that Kikuchi came back and mowed the Yankees down after the 1st two batters got on base. He could be a weapon out of the pen if he gets comfy out there.
  10. Thank christ Martin and SWR haven't taken off this season, that coupled with Berrios' implosion would have really stung.
  11. This s*** always cracks me up. The Jays have been pushing the OriLOLes s*** in for the better part of a decade, but the second that they look like something more than the fecal matter on the bottom of MLB's shoes finally, some s*** wad takes the time to go to a rival board and start a bragging thread. Hahaha
  12. Rafael Ohashi hasn't pitched since June 11th. Did they just shut him down or did he have a major injury? Can't find anything.
  13. Always love when a team is underperforming to expectations and fans inevitably start to bitch about it, that they get jumped on by other fans for it. Of course the natives are getting restless, this team has been an unbelievably inconsistent mess this season. f***ing frustrating. I mean, when dolts like Juniorf***face or whatever his name was are on here bitching constantly, that's different. Those types of knobs need to be roasted. With them it's never positive, always negative. The good news is, despite this teams inconsistency they are still positioned well, and one solid hot streak will have them playoff bound, and in the playoffs Yusei Kikuchi can go f*** himself in the club house while never getting near the mound.
  14. This team is f***ed. I keep waiting for them to pull it all together, and just when it looks like they might pull away in the WC race, they turn into a bunch of f***ing useless losers again.
  15. Hopefully Giles liked his time with the Jays. That's a no lose opportunity with potentially huge upside.
  16. Zulu hasn't pitched in 12 days now. Wonderful.
  17. So who's winning the AL east? Baltimore or Tampa? lol to either
  18. Just to pour some salt in our wounds, looks like Tiedemann got slapped around a bit yesterday, at least on the score sheet. 2.0 IP 2 K's 0 BB's 4 Hits 3 Earned runs
  19. Anyone know what Brandon Eisert's stuff is like? He's having a pretty damn good year in AAA for a 24 year old, especially since he started off poorly. Since June 1st: 12.93 K/9 3.42 BB/9 3.02 ERA 1.86 FIP 0 home runs given up 23.2 IP That's all with a .370 BABIP
