    They absolutely need some more depth, but the top 4 are notoriously durable so it's not crazy to think they'll all be healthy again. Plus Manoah is also a workhorse, if he isn't ass again he can eat a lot of innings.

    Two years for Green, perfect. Pitching staff is really good on paper already, just need to plug those holes on offense and defense. 1. Gausman 2. Berrios 3. Bassit 4. Kikuchi 5.     The pessimist in me says that only two scenarios will play out with Vlad: #1 - He remains a Jay and continues his replacement level play becoming quite the disappointment #2 - He is traded at some point and it jolts him to make some changes and he turns back into a 5+ fWAR star

    Atkins put together one of the best and most durable starting rotations in baseball, and also a very good and deep bullpen. Everyone but Hicks is under control for at least another year too. The team also still miraculously pulled off 89 wins despite three core players (Manoah, Vlad, Kirk) going from a combined 10.8 fWAR in 2022 to a combined 2.2 fWAR in 2023. No, I wouldn't fire Atkins.

    Haha, with the way this season has gone these two losses were totally predictable. No way would they continue to rattle off victories and clinch this early. Still in good shape though, especially if they can salvage this last game vs the Yankees. Texas vs Mariners for 4 games now....go Rangers. Magic number is 3 now, correct?

    It's more his stuff that is enticing rather than his numbers, although his ability to generate whiffs is also intriguing. I'm over it though, as the Jays have clearly built up a strong stable of swing and miss relievers in the upper minors to work with and already have a strong MLB pitching staff.

    The bullpen depth for the Jays blows me away. Assuming Hicks walks and they snag an option on Green, and Garcia takes his option... Romano Green Mayza Swanson Garcia Richards Cabrera Francis Pearson Pop Cimber Danner Cooke Juenger White Zulueta Lots of live arms and swing and miss for days.

    It'd be nice to add another mid rotation starter for sure. Hopefully Berrios and Kikuchis troubles are behind them, but let's not forget how bad they were last year. Manoah is such a wild card at this point that you certainly can't count on him for anything. Tiedemann should factor in somehow if he stays healthy, but certainly not a sure thing in any way. Schultz seems to have been moved into a reliever role. White has had a resurgence at AAA, but if he provides anything at the MLB level it'll be a surprise bonus IMO. Gausman Berrios Bassitt Kikuchi Manoah White Tiedemann Nobody else is really kicking the door down right now in the minors, need another SP for sure.

    Zulu with another good outing today too. 3 K's 0 walks in 1.1 IP Back into the convo for potential MLB high leverage reliever again.

    This is still gonna be so tough to get in. Have Cole and King one more time each, plus 6 games vs the f***ing Rays, and let's face it..this team could easily faceplant those 6 games vs the Rays.

    Mitch White might be the 5th starter next year, seems to have unlocked something late this season.

    I think they are a frustrating team because they should be better and we all know it. So many key core players s***ing the bed on their projections yet somehow they are still in it. This should be a 95+ win team.

    Too bad Danner got hurt like that, he looks like a legit reliever option going forward, would have been nice to see him at the MLB level. Between him and Cooke, the Jays might be able to really start to cull the weaker, less consistent and more expensive relievers they have in an already strong bullpen.

    I see Zulueta didn't pitch from August 12th to September 3rd but since he's returned he's been much better with the walks, in a small sample size. Was he injured or did they get him to work on something at the development complex?
