Extremely frustrating season so far, but progression isn't always linear.
The Jays won 91 games last season (2021) and they didn't tear it down until 2018 (JD trade) so it's been 3-4 seasons, not 7.
At most it's been 4 seasons, from 2017 (76 wins) to 2021 (91 wins).
Yeah they didn't make the playoffs, but they were a 91 win team with a +183 run differential. How many times has a team that good missed the playoffs in the wild card era?
That's a pretty quick turn around. Hopefully the lull this season is just a hiccup on their way to true contender status.
