  1. For the massive difference in quantity of tickets they can sell, I'm the sure the Jays wouldn't get hurt if they experienced a few rain delays in the worst case. Is be going that route for sure if I cared about increasing revenue, which most businesses are about.
  2. That is exactly why I said the dome might remain an outdoor facility during all games and we might even see rain delays. They can the shut the roof during all other times when there are no fans in the seats. It makes the most economic sense.
  3. I dunno man, I can easily see it being considered an outdoor gathering with no roof and the seats socially distanced. We'll find out soon enough.
  4. There are different restrictions on capacity for indoor vs outdoor gatherings. I am assuming if the dome is open that it would be considered an outdoor gathering, which allows a lot more people at the games. A closed dome would be an indoor gathering, which allows a lot less people inside. Am i off here?
  5. Feel like we're gonna have an open Dome regardless if it rains or not. The difference between the numbers of people allowed in a closed dome stadium vs an open one is too massive. Will we see our first real rain delay in Rogers Center history?
  6. Love that from Reese. That's a great way to keep your average up. Now the defense will have to play more straight up so now he can pull the ball easier.
  7. Report: Jays could make Toronto return July 30 as talks progress with feds https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2187388
  8. Cubs trade Joc Pederson to Braves https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2187342 Really hope we luck out with some combination of Kimbrel/Bryant/Hendricks for cheap.
  9. If TFC is back then Jays are back?
  10. This sucks man, let the Jays back. They are abiding by strict protocols/testing that is different than normal people.
  11. That was pretty fun. Baseball has it right with the Derby. Wish they created some other events and put it on the weekends.
  12. I think we should have a good idea what both players will try to command in the offseason by the trade deadline. If it's not going to be something we'll be interested in then trade them. Both of these players can put teams over the top so I'm sure we would get something really good back even it's for a rental. Worst case, we do get to quality both so it is kind of a win/win position.
  13. Baseball's draft system sucks. That is all lol.
  14. The bigger question should be whether we trade Semien and Ray if we fall back a lot by the trade deadline? Try to get back some good controllable players while going all in this offseason?
  15. Why didn't we use Matz over Kay here? Don't care how this goes but it's just a stupid decision...
  16. 36 pitches for 4 outs so far. Should be out by the 3rd if he keeps this up but I doubt it.
  17. I was just saying that Vladdy is leading off too far from 1st.
  18. Dammit... Springer made good contact there.
  19. I agree with you, I was pushing for us to spend more this offseason to patch up the obvious holes. But I can also see the method to the madness of seeing where all our young guys fit on our team long term. We have tons of salary space and there was a reason why our management didn't use majority of it in one offseason. Semien can easily be brought back or we can go after one of the many other SS's on the market, which was always part of their plan I think. I've compared this team to the 2015 team where we had an amazing run differential but were stuck around .500 because of our pitching and defense. The same drawbacks hold true for this team but the main difference is that our core is just beginning their MLB careers whereas the 2015 team was on their way down. There is no reason for us to make any moves that hurt us long term. I will trust the front office as they've got us to this point thus far.
  20. The average fan will be pissed for sure about this season. Heck, so will all the die hands but the big picture is what our management cares about it seems. They've already put up with as much backlash any management team can get without caving and it has gotten them this far. I doubt they give a crap about us being pissed for another year. They won't speed up their plan as they always said they will use this trade deadline and the upcoming offseason to add to their vision of the final product.
  21. I think our management always viewed this season to be their first competitive year while we wait and see what we have with our young guys. That 50/50 approach might be better for us long term but will hurt us for this season. This is the reason why Bo is playing SS instead of Semien. I fully trust our management will take the kid Gloves off next year where I expect us to make some world series noise.
  22. Extremely! Dude got hurt early in the season because he couldn't catch a damn ball so it hit his bare hand. 3B is definitely not the position for him. What value do you provide defensively if you suck at most positions? His best asset is that he takes walks. He's still a good young player overall but extremely overrated in that i don't consider him part of the core.
  23. Reese is pathetic behind the plate. The amount of strikes he cant frame and all those missed tags at home, he needs to get punted for a bag of pucks.
