    Damn man... Valera went from pinch hitting for Kirk to getting released. Seems like a disconnect between our manager and Shatkins lol.

    What has Smith shown to get the starting nod over Espinal at 3B? Espinal starts over him easily but preferably I would want Espinal to be our backup utility IF and platoon with Biggio at 2B.

    Jays are trying to win in 2022 and I doubt they're ok with Biggio at 3rd if they're actually serious about that. The only starting position for Biggio is 2B on this team imo. He is backup level everywhere else on the diamond. I'm super confident the Jays will add a major IF.

    Exactly, Rays have a track record of trading their players when they get expensive. I don't see that changing.

    Exactly how I felt. I really enjoyed the villain role at times when we were beating the crap out of teams. Don't gotta be nice all the time lol.

    Does not matter one bit. The 2015 will always be one of my favourites. I actually enjoy players who have fire even if it can cross the line on the field at times.

    Maybe getting both might be a stretch but we definitely need one of them and preferably Bryant as it's better to have the DH spot open. Im pretty sure our 5th starter will be a cheap reclamation project like Matz was or we just roll the dice with Stripling/Pearson.

    Totally agree... there's 0 chance that you from Semien to Biggio and try to think the team gets better or even relatively the same. I'm confident we will make a significant add to 2B/3B

    Because anything that discourages tanking is a better system than one that doesn't? Even the nba system isn't perfect and they've tweaked that many times. They've flattened the odds for all non playoff teams

    These are all good changes being discussed. Hurry up and finalize things that most seem to be on board for. There is 0 reason for there to be a lockout with League being relatively healthy.

    I doubt Seager nor Semien actually expected these contracts from any of their preferred destinations. Rangers came in and just screwed up the market for a team that's going nowhere. Ah well... like another poster said, it's a free market so we need to figure it out and keep improving.

    The s***** part of the Rangers spending stupidly is that there are 2 less targets for us. We're actually trying to win something while I have no clue wtf the Rangers think they're doing.

    Aside from the bullpen and the 5th starter job, we're pretty much all locked in to our current guys. This is assuming we will make a big splash for a 2B or 3B. We might be too good for players looking to bounce back lol

    They do have a pretty good team on paper man. Plus they're still trying to spend it seems so maybe this is their year lol.

    I also think Bryant would be the cheapest big target we can get. Jose Ramirez and Chapman will cost so damn much. I say let's go after Bryant and Schwarber at DH for his left handed bat. We can hope someone will take Grichuk off our hands if the MLB implements a salary floor in the new CBS

    So after signing Gausman and losing out on Semien, it seems like the glaring hole on our team is how we're going to handle 2B/3B. I'm creating this thread mainly because I haven't heard many rumours this offseason of which infielder we're tied to but I'm pretty damn sure we'll make a big splash on that front. There are a lot of ways this can go but my preference at this stage would be to get a 3B and let Biggio/Espinal battle for 2B or just platoon them. I've even heard from some that we could maybe move Vlad to 3B and go after a 1B but I don't think we'll mess with Vlad defensively. Kris Bryant/Chapman/Jose Ramirez would be my targets so what are yours?

    That seems like the approach considering we still have Stripling/Pearson who can battle for the 5th spot. Stripling is going into a contract year so I wouldn't be surprised if he can pin down the 5th spot. I've lost all hope for counting on Pearson for anything until he can show us something without getting hurt.
