No doubt... his defense, baserunning and ability to lay down the bunt makes him an ideal 4th OFer.
I just don't think Shatkins are ready to accept they traded Moreno/Gurriel for that so it's more likely he'd get moved before that happened.
Signing a guy like Teo would be perfect where he could split his time at DH and the OF.
Was always a massive KK fan so happy to see him back. Maybe Varsho gets moved for another immediate need but that seems shortsided since KK doesn't have much left in the tank.
I'm perfectly fine with getting his offensive production from the number 9 spot because he provides other elite attributes (defense and base running). I have an issue with giving up what we did to get Varsho to produce similar results. So if we can take him and move him for another position of need at 3B then that'd be my preference. All depends on what type of offers we can get here.
We can always sign Bellinger and KK and then go trade Varsho for a 3B. I'd just really hate losing KK, he was one of my favourite Jays in such a depressing season.
There is no way anyone should be upset at getting Bellinger for 8/160. We all know that's not gonna happen.
My guess all along is that he gets 7/175 or 9/200.
Ya you only take that approach if you got something else lined up. We don't owe Bellinger s*** so I assume we're trying other ways to improve if he wants to sit on our offer. If we find something better, only then we pull the offer from the table.
You gotta give them credit... they check in on everyone and wait for the first bargain. Love the approach. Getting him would make Varsho the 4th OFer.
*runs away from all the Varsho stans
Ya the smart longterm play would be to hand out 1/2 year deals but Atkins ass is on the line and they're trying to build hype around a fully renovated ballpark.
They will definitely make "splashy" moves. Now we all hope the moves aren't ones that f*** us longterm.
Honestly who the f*** cares what the Dodgers do. They're in the NL West and the only way it'll hurt us is if we make it all the way to the World Series. It's much better than seeing the Yankees get everyone.
