  1. Crazy amount of money for someone who hasn't pitched a single day in the majors. Does this make him the highest paid pitcher in the majors?
  2. No to 8/200 but yes to 6/150 for Bellinger. For that reason, I expect him to sign for 7/175. If he's really stuck on 200 then it'll be for 9 years to bring down the AAV.
  3. Love it. I'm waiting for the day that any pitcher entering the game is given no warm up pitches. That's what those pitches in the bullpen should be for. There are so many rules in baseball meant to slow the game down that can be removed.
  4. You honestly went into detail that will just go over his head but you definitely nailed it.
  5. Lol my life will go on if I don't have some ppl on a message board questioning my basketball knowledge. I will admit my baseball knowledge is secondary as it's not my number 1 sport. I don't mind being schooled at times here because I expect it. Knowledge just isn't as vast as someone who watches a lot more than me.
  6. Exactly... Masai should a statue for what he's done for the franchise but his performance after 2020 has been ridiculously bad. They got paid new extensions to be top of the league but have performed quite the opposite. It's like saying the Jays should have kept Cito Gaston as their manager for eternity because he was the manager of 2 world series titles. Guess what, things change and what was done in the past doesn't always work well for you in the present. Got this douche Brownie trying to speak to me about basketball like he knows a thing lol.
  7. They went from being elite to a joke pretty fast. They will always be loved for 2019 but if we are talking about from 2021 onwards and what their future outlook is, you should probably get more clued into the team and the media/fanbase instead of pulling up numbers from a different era of Raptors basketball. The Raptors also don't have their 1st round pick this upcoming season and have 2 of their 3 best players headed into unrestricted feet agency while making win NOW moves. It's been laughable move after laughable move in recent years and they got their extension to be a near top paid management group during this time. I wouldn't expect you to understand that though.
  8. Man, maybe I should tone down my criticism of Shatkins after watching the Raptors. Now that's true incompetence...
  9. But he can outscore the entire Jays offense by himself in the playoffs so I wouldn't go that far lol.
  10. God, I hate MLB free agency. Can they put a pitch clock on guys to sign too? Everything baseball related has to be so f***ing slow lol.
  11. You let Schneider/Biggio battle it out for the starting 2B job unless a total stud lands in your lap at that position. If both put up similar numbers then you just platoon them.
  12. Hoskins seems like the perfect guy to sign for 1 year and hope for a big year. Then we qualify him so we can get a pick ala Semien/Ray.
  13. See what happens when I don't put an lol... chaos ensues lol
  14. Good... want no part in paying a guy twice Gausman's contract. No pitcher is worth that without proving you are the elite of elites like a prime Cole, Scherzer, Verlander, etc. At best, he will be worth his contract. At worst, it can be one the worst contract in the big leagues. Risk is just not worth it.
  15. Ya he does have the perfect agent for this. Some team will run out of options and probably give it to him but at least you can say you tried every angle before giving in. Let's see how it goes.
  16. We also never heard of a guy deferring 680M. Anyways, lighten up... whole point was that Bellinger would have to settle for something crazy to get that 200M+ deal.
  17. I was just playing around in ways to get Bellinger to 200M because no sane team should give him that with his track record. Realistically he might need to sign another 1 year deal and have a big year if he is stuck on 200M+
  18. Now you have
  19. 8/200M for Bellinger with a team opt out after year 6 and a player opt out after Year 5. Boras can "save face" by pretending to get 200M and the Jays get the player they need at the price he's worth.
  20. I already said that because of age and the fact we already have Varsho under contract, he should be our starting CF in 2024. All things even, KK is the better overall defender. There is a reason why KK was CF every single inning he played with not a single soul wanting Varsho to play there while moving KK to LF. Unlike the year we had Semien at 2B who majority thought he'd be better at SS over Bo defensively. We had KK signed to a 1 year deal and still played him at CF everytime over a guy who is supposed to be our future. There was a reason for that but don't let logic get in your way lol.
  21. You see, you look at those numbers and think they provide the complete picture. While its a great summary, youre not factoring things like teams dont run on guys who are known to have strong/accurate arms. So i should give credit to Varsho because of him getting more oppprtunities? There are certain things I will rely on my eye test when I was able to see both for a full season. KK is the better overall fielder and actually has a proven track record at CF with no slow down at the moment. Just my 2 cents.
  22. For that reason, I think we'll end up with Chapman, Teo and a good DH. While I'd love Bellinger for his left handed bat and plus defense in the corner OF, 200M for a sporadic player is insane.
  23. Ya you say that but I think KK is still a better defender with a better arm at CF. Just a massive fan of KK tbh. But with the age factor, you obviously stick Varsho in CF and get a masher in LF unless Varsho brings you have a stud that helps you right now (doubt it).
  24. We won't bring KK back simply because he makes Varsho look useless. I'd rather have him patrolling CF even at age 35 or whatever he's at.
  25. Impatient Jays fan here. Please give me something so I can start dreaming of a 2024 championship and then cry the following offseason for it not happening...
