    This will be great for 2024 hopefully but I don't trust people longterm that make it seem like such an effort to remain in shape. While i love Vladdy, guys like that don't deserve 10 year deals even if he puts up his 2021 numbers. Also, is he wearing his shorts backwards? Lol

    What a hilarious post. Dude was a sought after free agent, including the Jays who were again a finalist here, before this BS story went against him. It is clearly just this story that has kept teams away from him. All the other stuff were things teams had no issue to overlook if he kept performing on the field.

    The Dodgers are what the Yankees used to be man. It's crazy the level of winning those f***ers have achieved for so long. I'm not even sure if they've had back to back below .500 years in like 30 years.

    Ya it's a tough line of looking at a guy for what he's done in the past and thinking how much of it he can do in the future. Some guys age well while some don't and typically it's best just to stay away from it all like the Rays do but it's not easy to hit on practically every young guy like they do lol.

    I get the injury concerns and we'd have to talk to him about moving to a corner OF spot with some DH reps to uphold the body but the upside is just too stupidly good to not take the chance. You invested a ton into your high performance department so let's see what the big investment was for. Did people think Ohtani was going to look unbreakable during the same years while getting paid much more? Ohtani has already had major injury concerns in his career too but the whole world was begging for him. Also, realistically teams would eat some of that contract because they'd have to get a return for one of the best players of all time. You cant sell your franchise on this by getting nothing for him. It's a move I would 100% look into if it's possible.

    J.D. would be an amazing get at DH given what's available. Get Bellinger if the contracts reasonable or get Teo otherwise.     That's surprising to hear. Everything around this team was trending downwards last season. There was very little excitement to catch a Jays game. Would be hilarious if everything sold out during the couple of days of Ohtani fever lol.

    Don't even have to do that since u already know. Also our best window to win was before the Bo and Vlad extensions. I promise you that if this takes any step back this upcoming season, Atkins will be gone and maybe even Shapiro depending on how it goes. But before we keep going there, let's see how the offseason unfolds. Hopefully some solid moves are made to improve this team's offseason dramatically. In the end we both want the same thing and that's for the Jays to just win and look like an actual playoff threat. Sadly the only year we looked like a real playoff threat was the year we didn't make it lol.

    I'd tweak the lineup but sign me the hell up for this. The other alternatives are giving bad contracts to free agents or standing pat so I don't see anything close to being better than this.

    Totally agree with you but let's be real, Shatkins are fighting for their jobs. If we take any step back while still having a poo poo farm system, this will be their last year here (especially Atkins). As a result of that desperation, I totally expect to see one or two contracts that fans will hate longterm.

    Crazy how we're going from an offseason where we could have gotten Ohtani/Yamamoto to us getting Bellinger is the most impactful move potentially lol.
