    Bellinger can also play 1B on days Vladdy DHs. Also until Varsho shows he can hit consistently, it feels stupid to give him a full year of ABs from LF. Again, don't see it happening. Probably more realistic that Chappy is brought back and then we have a glut of IFs with weak hitting Lefty OFs.

    Don't forgot J.D. Martinez. Pretty much all the guys who were near the top of their position in free agency need homes. Hope Boras falls flat on his face because I've always hated his ego as an agent lol.

    Even that I think is too much. I thought he should have gotten the Springer 6/150 deal but probably got overpaid by someone for 7/175.

    Just hope that the Boras clients start to get desperate and his price comes down to where the Jays feel happy to take the risk. Obviously that's the only way this happens.

    Offseason might not be loss folks. If we can just add 1 big bat to squeeze in between Bo and Vlad, we are cooking.

    In our hearts, 2015 was all we needed. I still believe that we had the best team in baseball that year. Never once have I felt that way during the Shatkins era. It's crazy because the best team during the Shatkins era in my eyes was the year we didn't even make the playoffs in 2021. That was our best chance to win it all but Shatkins took too long to bolster to bullpen that year.

    So you're saying they're holding back from building the best possible team because of expanded playoffs? Maybe that's why we have 0 playoff wins in this era loll.

    We wish we had an average farm system. Baseball America has us ranked 24th, which is one of the worst farm systems in baseball. Also imagine if baseball didn't expand their playoffs... not even sure if we would have had a single playoff appearance under Shatkins in that scenario lol.

    It's crazy that our payroll is maxed out and THIS is the team we have. How the hell are we going to look in a year or so when we have to figure out Bo/Vlad. Either we're losing them for prospects or we bring them back and have to cut payroll from elsewhere. Now I won't say they have done a horrible job, I just had higher expectations considering where we were after 2020.

    I definitely did not say our starters will suck but the health was MLB record setting levels. It's hard for that to repeat and if we see Mitch White and other AAA fodder being forced to start, we will see fallback there. In the end, I don't see the bounceback being high enough to overcome the fallback in other areas. Most fans were hoping we would try to take a step forward instead of taking a step back. That's where the disappointment comes from.

    People keep trying to push that we will get bounce backs from some guys while it wont be cancelled out in other areas. What says that our starters will set another MLB record in terms of health and make 30+ starts again? We lose a couple of starters to injuries and the drop-off will be felt. It was a horrible offseason and there's no other way to put it. Yes, we are still a good team but we were hoping to be great and we are definitely not that.

    I am so not pumped for this season if we are truly done man. A crappy hitting team has become crappier. Now I'm only speaking from an entertainment, last years Jays team was extremely unwatchable and I truly feel this years team is going be worse in that terms. We are going to be hoping for a lot of 2-1 wins.
