  1. He was batting 8th on a bad offensive team. My God, with the way you talk, you'd think the Jays had the best offensive team in the game. Hate to break it to you but Chapman and Varsho were major disappointments this past season.
  2. It's a f***ing joke... stop getting your panties twisted man... so defensive for no reason... are you related to Shapiro or Atkins? Lol
  3. Giving Chapman anything more than 100M over 5 years would be ridiculous. He needs to pull a Semien/Bellinger by betting on himself and then look for that contract. What he did this past season was pukeworthy for his standards.
  4. He looks around at Vlad, Kirk, Manoah and says "are you sure this is high performance department actually works?" Lol
  5. God I miss Tim and Sid. Never get to watch the guy anymore. Hope this made it rounds to the Dodgers douche loll
  6. LOL don't even go there after blasting me for my other comments.
  7. Luckily people aren't only taking 1 year when forming their opinion. It's been 8 years of Shatkins with 0 playoff wins while having more resources than the teams you just listed. Oh and ATL has a ring...
  8. I'd disagree. Ohtani is a Supreme athlete and has the perfect size to learn and play 1B. From my experience, if you can play any position on the field then you can easily play 1B as long as you have the bat to make it worth the hassle. Ohtani is probably gonna end up there once his pitching days are done anyways.
  9. For that reason, I suggested Ohtani plays 1B and Vladdy tries 3B for 1 season with him getting in shape AGAIN. If Vladdy sucks then back to 1B with Ohtani being a DH since he's gonna go back to pitching anyways. That's one less hole we'll have where we can spend more easily on LF.
  10. Soto was just an example. This could be applied to Berrios who was a stud when he traded for him (still think he's a stud). I'm just speaking of talent at that level. Now you could be right where other teams didn't value him as much but he was still ranked as one of the best prospects in baseball. The trade had more to do with Shatkins being desperate for a left handed defensive OFer than it did with Moreno's true value. Just my 2 cents.
  11. I don't know how many times I have to say the same thing but people are choosing only to take that away from what I'm saying. For the 10th time, I would have and still preferred having a guy like KK in CF while using Moreno for a more impactful talent. You should only be trading elite prospects for the Soto's of the world, not a guy who can be replaced by KK, Grisham, etc. Please tell me how hard has that been to understand? Yet people are going to nitpick a Pillar joke because they cant attack the original point lol.
  12. It's exactly why people go at me and some others on here. You question Shatkins and you're absolutely a moron. It's OK though, until they actually do something meaningful ON THE FIELD where most people care, there will be critics.
  13. LOL someone who challenges the front office is a moron. My bad, I will accept everything the front office does as great lol.
  14. I've been glued to this damn forum ever since it got real that we have a chance at Ohtani. I just want this thing to end but will be sad for sure if he doesn't come here. The alternative to Ohtani is gonna be such a massive drop that guys like me will become more insufferable for guys like you lol.
  15. Agreed that I'm going to the extreme but feel like you have to sometimes to make a point on the internet lol.
  16. I would for a rookie who also shuts down the running game behind the plate. We all know offensive numbers dip in the playoffs for most so seeing his overall output was encouraging. What were Varsho's playoff numbers btw? Lol
  17. And with standards like that is the reason why we knew games were over when the other team scored 3 runs on us lol.
  18. No, varsho was absolutely horrible last year and a big reason why our offense was putrid. Getting that output from LF was a joke. Entire comment was made that KK could have provided exactly what Varsho is but could have saved us Moreno/Gurriel who we could have used to gain an actual impact player.
  19. We would have batted his ass 10th last year if it was possible. Also, we are hoping he could improve next season into a league average bat. Yayy Varsho lol.
  20. The Pillar comment was tongue and cheek lol. Whole point was that we could have gotten a player to fill the CF void for a lot cheaper, plain and simple. And funny how you're quick to say Moreno spent several seasons with a Pillar type bat when he just finished his first season as a pro and absolutely tore it up in the playoffs when things matter MUCH MORE. We aren't going to agree here... enjoy Varsho lol.
  21. I cant believe Yamamoto would get 300M without ever having pitched in the majors. I am so against this contract for the record. You're telling me I can have 2 Kevin Gausman's vs 1 Yamamoto? Come on man lol.
  22. Which is why I love KK and seems like the Yankees got one to go ALONG with Soto. We all understand the value of one, we just don't think even a prime Kevin Pillar would have gotten us that type of return. How on earth anyone can try to justify the Varsho trade last year is beyond ridiculous lol.
  23. Hilarious that you can spin the conversation this way when it's just as likely he will continue to suck at the plate. There is not enough track record to expect any bounce back with conviction. Currently we can expect a repeat of last year or at best he can be league average. Again, give me KK all day even at his age rather than having to give up Gurriel/Moreno. We could have used them for a more impactful player elsewhere.
  24. More recent history has shown he was practically unplayable at the plate because he couldn't hit to save his life. And let's not pretend like he has a big track history. He has 1.5 seasons of being average at the plate vs 1 season of being completely useless. So currently he is in between being useless and average. I'm so pumped lol.
