I was just trying to show we can still better spend 70M or so for 2024 when Ohtani was only going to be a DH. I don't trust Bellinger long term and Chapman has shown to be too sporadic with the bat. Let's see what happens though.

It's pretty easy to say that he chose the Jays but got a massive last minute offer, which does seem to be the case here.

Chapman (20M), Bellinger (25M), Teo (20M), Hicks (10M) We can legitimately get all those guys for 5M more than Ohtani who was only DHing for 2024. Let's see what Shatkins can do here...

Wow... so we have a chance to get Ohtani while only losing 10M in our budgeting. This is pretty much the difference of having a legit world series favourite to what we had last year. Unreal

45M/year would be a bargain. Part of me feels like it'll be 50M minimum with a chance of 55MM with incentives.
