Ya I'm in the same boat. Just waiting for him to sign with the Dodgers and then say "wow, what a horrible contract... rather use the money elsewhere" lol
Still remember when he came back to the city just to dick us in the end. Getting the news he signed with the Clippers was my most heartbreaking spprts news ever
I think the depth is good but we still lack another top notch reliever. I've said many times that Romano should never be your teams best reliever. Even if the guy we get doesn't become our closer, still need 1 more elite bullpen arm.
If we land Ohtani, we don't need to add a starter. If anything, bringing back Ryu on a 1 year deal is more than enough.
My list would be in order of priority:
Starting 3B
Starting LF
Top reliever who can replace Romano if needed (Hicks).
Hes going to get the biggest contract in North American sports history and has had some of the best years of all time leading up to this free agency.
Now while one baseball player doesn't have the same impact as a basketball player but this close to "The Decision" from Lebron James. Just gonna hold out hope that Soto could fill the role of Chris Bosh here to join Ohtani lol
Gotta love the American idiots who think of the Blue Jays as some small market like they're Cleveland or something lol. Sure we're not the Dodgers but we're definitely closer to them than we are to the Clevelands of the world.
Ya I'm not saying he's gonna be a scrub... just that 300M for a pitcher has been reserved for the Cole's of the world. There should only be a handful of pitchers that get that type of money.
Atkins probably had to get his fungus checked and couldn't say why. I will NOT let myself get excited about this unless I see it's official. Dodgers just make too much sense for the guy.
Yall are ignoring the fact KFC and Wendy's have coupons that make their chicken sandwiches as the better bang for the buck decisions. Popeyes and Mary Browns are too damn expensive lol.
I understand Soto has already turned down 440M but he was coming off an amazing season. He has had 1.5 down seasons for his standards so one more season like that and he'd probably get the same 440M he already turned down.
But if I I had to bet, we are going to see Soto's best season because that's what contract years typically do to people. Except if your name is Chapman lol.
