  1. I’m interested in seeing Luzardo. He’s a FA next year. Possible target.
  2. Also,,, Owen Casey and Sam Shaw, two guys I really liked last year are back. Casey looked really good in a short stint in Vancouver last year.
  3. The minors have been really fun this year as there have just been a lot of good performances and guys popping up. Austin Cates (who I think was tstats sleeper pitcher for our system) has been great over his last three starts. Jay Harry is playing seemingly every position (everything except catcher, 3rd and first) and is having a power explosion. I’m not sure how much I believe that given his history but who knows. His versatility on defense seems useful. Then the complex league team is dominating (they do seem to have had some help from rehabbers playing with them). Guzman is off to a super hot start. Not sure what his deal is other than he is playing second mostly which either means he can’t play short or they have a prospect they like better playing there. He’s 19 as is Owen Gregg, undrafted Canadian also on a heater. Then there is the Italian pitcher Taschin (sp?) who is also killing in the fcl. I wonder if and when they get moved up. Gregg seems blocked positionally somewhat. I also think seeing pinango and Valenzuela perform in the majors has made me pay attention to guys I barely thought about before.
  4. How do you insert twitter links?
  5. They kind of need to wait to see what Max looks like feels like before they make a final decision on Corbin/SWR.
  6. This team is good. The at bats are in the main really good. The pitching is good.
  7. SWR looked pretty good. He might stick as long man in the pen. Miles goes back to one/two inning higher leverage?
  8. I think bigger picture I’m liking the type of guys we are drafting. At the end of the day you kind of need to draft or trade for CFs. There aren’t many in free agency who are above average there, I’m happy we are getting some athletes.
  9. I’d say both of them will make the league in some capacity just because 4th outfielders are useful, especially with speed and defense. But yea, the chances of him like being valuable… I dunno. I don’t know if I believe age to level ALWAYS especially when he really hasn’t been in pro ball much yet but we’ll see how it goes.
  10. Looking at fangraphs grades the cautionary tale is druw jones. So yea it hinges on the hit tool but it’s a great foundation and a lot of upside for that draft slot,
  11. No it was hit tool and speed, and they hoped he could be plus at cf but it never worked out.
  12. https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/blue-jays-farm-report-bullard-cook-lead-as-dunedin-running-like-crazy/ Was this article posted? The thing that stands out to me in blazing massive letters is that they have internal 80 grade run and 70 at CF on cook? That is a crazy foundation. Like even Simpson wasn’t projected as plus plus at cf.
  13. His at bats look great. Like he has a great eye for the zone and takes hacks at the right pitches. I think the scouting reports were light on the stick even if he isn’t this good which is highly probable.
  14. I could def see a path where he ends up in the corner outfield but he will get a long time to fail before that. I think Vancouver skipped Nolan Perry’s start. Maybe giving him a break.
  15. Owen Gregg, undrafted guy out of Oakville in 2024, injured last year but still 19… mashing in FCL. He had a 5 game stint in low A, be interesting if he can make it back there for a few months this year, Also, they have some Italian pitcher who had another great game today.
  16. Vlad swings too much. That’s the problem. It doesn’t look like he will ever fix it.
  17. I think he could with spring training honestly but it’s way too late now to find out.
  18. We are a tax team so we don’t get a comp pick after round 1 but after round 4. I think at the time I wanted to try clement there. You are probably right.
  19. Yea fair I just don’t want to re-sign him next year and the comp pick is worthless to us.
  20. I obviously would rather we get a wild card at least and get in to the dance, but a fallback year might not be the worst thing ever either. We could replenish the farm one last time and then hopefully have enough pitching to be competitive for a few years run. We’d have Cease, Yesavage, Ponce and hopefully another FA (Gausman?) and then Miles and Bloss right there. Then Perry, Stanifer, and King quite close. Dallas in the mix as well. It’s the best pitching outlook in a while.
  21. Parker got a line drive homer yesterday which is good to see. Sanchez might be a bit pissed he got rested as guys were teeing off. Bloss had another good rehab. Is our complex league team older than the others? They are kicking ass but don’t really have too many notable prospects.
  22. I suggested trading him before the year and playing Luke’s and possibly clement there. This is not really the kind of trade the jays would do during the season tho.
  23. Not sure if mentioned yet but Nolan Perry made the BA top 100. He is the top jays pitcher.
  24. He’s a really interesting player especially if he can play third, and maybe outfield corner as well as first. Who they trade/keep of this big bunch of leftie hitters will be a tough decision.
