  1. Yea i think his contract could have actual value for a cheap team looking for a 5th starter.
  2. I want them to sign Bo, but the argument to essentially spend his money on pitching is a pretty good one imo:
  3. He's an ok long man leftie in the pen for $5 million or so. Like, its not terrible but when we have a pretty tight 40 man.. i think its tradeable.
  4. Yea i kind of knew they wouldn't like it based on that. I was surprised on how low they were on tucker.
  5. It Lauer isn't optionable, i might either decline that contract or sign him and trade him. Depending on how i feel about tieddeman, bloss etc.
  6. Bullpen already signed for next year is - Hoffman - Garcia - Little - Lauer - Varland - Sandlin - Fisher - Nance - Fluharty - Bruhl - Schultz We also have some guys in the system who you'd think could be good additions. I think i'd just straight hold off on this. Is Lauer optionable? If i could keep him in triple A as the 6th starter I'd prefer that.
  7. Listening to the rates and barrells pod on free agency. Quite low on tucker and bo. Basically, bo's skillset really doesn't age well. edit: high on Imai.
  8. Woodruff would be the guy for me except for the velo drop off last year.
  9. Gausman, Springer, Lauer, Garcia, Varsho are off the books in 2027. If you really believe in the homegrown pitching, i think you could spend this year, and dip under again in 2027 or 2028 with largely a homegrown rotation. Or at least with someone like Yesavage in the spot where a $25m pitcher was before.
  10. I don't think Detroit will extend him. The offer they supposedly gave was laughable. I actually think some team will technically get a deal on him WAR to dollar wise just because teams are so reluctant to pay for rentals, if it happens in the offseason.
  11. Skubal is projected for roughly 6 wins. At $10m per win that's about $60m. So that's roughly a 50fV hitter and a 50FV pitcher plus something else (50fV hitter is 28m and pitcher is 21m). So, like Nimmala and Bloss/Tieddeman who are both 50FV on fangraphs. Then you'd have to add a real prospect to that as well.
  12. I didn't realize its only one year of skubal. Crochet had two years left. So, i'm not sure but you'd think there are teams that could beat it.
  13. I think i'd aim high in pitching, so an ace via trade or top of the market. If that doesn't happen, i might consider standing pat. Or maybe signing Bassitt on a one year deal.
  14. Cease, Bieber, Gausman, Yesavage, Berrios is a pretty damn good rotation. That would be amazing.
  15. AA won several divisions and a world series so i'm not sure it will ever be the time to dunk on him.
  16. The barger projection is encouraging. As is the Tieddeman one.
  17. Could you centre a skubal trade around barger?
  18. I'd happily trade lukes but not for a reliever. If he was the 4th piece that got us skubal, let's do it.
  19. This is the key thing to me. Santander was injured essentially all year and we had 1.8 WAR, 103 wrc+ on the bench for league minimum, and someone who could credibly play any outfield spot. I'm not giving that up for a reliever. Unless we think we have more of that in the org.
  20. He has a lat strain and would prob be back start of season. His velo was down last year though which is a concern.
  21. I think the bieber one was based basically entirely on him just being back from TJ and i would assume have options in there. Bassitt is a real innings eater who just doesn't get iniured which does have value. 5 years in a row of at least 150 innings. We kind of have that with gausman or berrios but i could see another team wanting that.
  22. That Bieber news gives them a lot of comfort to figure out what they want to do vis a vis a 5th starter. Maybe take a chance on someone like Woodruff? Or mostly stand pat (bring back bassitt maybe) and plan to make a big trade at the deadline.
  23. They are based on historical comps mostly. My feeling is that bassitt could probably get 2/40 but the others are not realistic.
  24. The athletic has contract projections out. - Bichette 8/212 - Bieber 3/63 - Bassitt 2/46 - Seranthony 2/17 - Max 1/14
  25. I wouldn't trade lukes for a reliever.
