    He is also only 31. And his stuff dropped even when his velo didn't. I hope he goes to driveline or something in the offseason and see if there are changes he could make.

    Could you get Santander to cross train at first base? Then at least you could play him there when Vlad DHs or rests and put Springer in RF.

    I don't think i'd sign any bullpen. If we are good at the deadline, trade for it.

    Tucker as the one year early springer replacement would be amazing. You'd just figure it out for 2026.

    I kind of have doubts on how that the fastball plays at lower velos. You would think if he could locate the fastball up more, he could be a closer.

    He wasn't in the AFL roster for what its worth. Edit; I kind of feel most likely option now is bullpen but maybe a really good one. But you never know. Also if it is bullpen then he might be the elite leftie we are missing.

    His 2024 and 2025 are pretty similar. Slightly below average offense plus good d at a few position. With more at bats last year. I definitely wouldn't expect his playoff results.

    His velo was down a whole tick which is a classic sign of playing hurt.

    I think Bassit is the perfect 5th starter in the regular season as we have proof of concept he can throw relief in the playoffs.

    With clement, a guy who hasn't made much money, could you offer him something like 3/18 and buy out his arb years?

    there's no way we trade springer and no one would want berrios. He is intetesting because his stuff numbers degenerated for years even though his velo only really hard dropped this year. Its definitely possible that he played hurt this year. He's also 31. Maybe being left off the playoff roster could lead him to some tinkering this offseason to see if he can get back to closer to 2020 berrios.

    He supposedly is really high upside really high downside.

    Sandlin has a different arm angle so might be worth keeping. Burr is making the minimum so if you like him, i'd keep him. I'd say Tate is cut and Bruhl is cut maybe. There was a video out before last season about bullpen to starter candidates and hoffman was one of the names. I wonder if they would try it with him or varland. He has 4 pitches. Could he be a 5th starter?

    I thought i saw him in the dugout once in the CS but not sure .

    Straw is a club option in 2027, so i'm not sure its worth trying to lose that 8 million. Its not enough money to make any real effort imo. If Berrios can hold up as an inning eater in the regular season, then I think he will be fine for at least one year. But yea its a problem after.

    We are sitting about 225 projected right now assuming they cut Dillon Tate. That includes projected arb as well. That also includes 16m if Bieber doesn't opt out. If he does, that's 209m so about 46m short of last year's budget. Probably not enough to sign bo and two starters but an increase in budget for this year would not be crazy, you'd think. I'd pitch ownership on a decent increase 2026 and 2027. Money is coming off the books in both years. The berrios, gimenez and hoffman contracts seem like problems on some level. Eye test to me Gimenez always seems like he should be able to hit.

    I don't think we can trade for Skubal, we just don't have the bullets. The yankees, dodgers and red sox have better prospects and the red sox could include Duran.

    I'd love to get him then. Him and yesavage and gausman would be a good top three for next year.
