  1. He’s allowed 1 hit through 7 innings
  2. Mize absolutely mowing through our lineup. 8 K’s through 3 innings.
  3. Cavan Biggio plate appearances are just a joy to watch.
  4. For the record, I do think they should break camp with him, but I can also understand why they would hold him down from an asset management perspective. That lineup doesn’t really need Vaughn anyways. Scoring runs isn’t going to be a problem for them, especially if it’s only for two weeks.
  5. You're selling Andrew Vaughn short. He thrashed college pitching more than most top draft prospects do and has a legitimate chance of becoming one of the better all-around hitters in the majors. He's basically not that far off from Spencer Torkelson.
  6. Lance McCullers Jr. signs a 5 year, $85M extension to stay with the Astros. He was set to be a free agent at the end of this season.
  7. Anthony Castro was an interesting waiver pickup. Touching 2500 rpm with his fastball paired with a 2900 rpm curve, both with above average velo.
  8. I think that makes it 8 shutout innings from SWR against the Yankees this spring
  9. He's pitched less than 30 innings in High-A, and yet looks incredibly poised and decently polished. Doesn't seem like he has a great fastball in terms of velo and spin, but everything plays up because of his ability to command. Kind of reminds me of Mike Soroka who also has below average velocity and spin, but obviously still really effective with his pitchability and command. His breaking stuff looks quite good though.
  10. Bo, 2nd opposite field homer of the day lol
  11. That inning literally lasted 2 minutes....Woods-Richardson works FAST Disposed of Jay Bruce in 3 pitches with a dirty changeup
  12. We finally get SWR on a televised broadcast!
  13. Only if you believe elbows are important when it comes to pitching.
  14. Thornton looks pretty good. His delivery seems a little smoother and less herky jerky. Seems like he's trimmed down some as well.
  15. Jesus christ, Teo CRUSHED that to center. 107.1 mph, 445 ft
  16. 112.5 mph single off the bat of Stanton there. Wow. He's going to be tough to pitch to for about 10 games before he inevitably goes on the DL for the entire season.
  17. Interesting note, but Ha-Seong Kim's Steamer projection has been downgraded to 0.8 fWAR from the original one of I think around 3 or so WAR. He's had a pretty rough spring (.347 OPS with a 33% K rate).
  18. Jeff Mathis has been released by the Phillies. I’m thinking we should extend him a minor league deal if/when McGuire gets traded or DFA’d.
  19. I can see why the Jays put Ty Tice on their 40-man. High spin fastball and curveball paired with good velocity. He was also throwing three pitches today (4-seamer, curve, and slider). Could be a good story out of the bullpen this year if he gets a chance. Kirby Snead also looks decent. It’s getting to the point where the fringes of our 40-man are younger, interesting guys.
  20. Tatis and Kyle Freeland left their games with injuries too. Rough day.
  21. Eno coming in hot: I know our rotation gets a lot of s***, but the Yankees rotation is just as, if not more susceptible to falling apart IMO. Cole is Cole, but Kluber is coming off major surgeries at age 35, and Taillon is coming off his second TJ. Their rotation has more upside, but I think we have better depth. Although knowing them, Domingo German or Deivi Garcia will end up posting 5 WAR seasons.
  22. I’d look into Shane Greene too.
  23. Christ, what a cursed news dump. At least Springer/Ray won’t be out long (you’d hope)
  24. We should sign Shane Greene. Obviously, not ideal, but it hurts less when we have some good arms in the minors for the rotation or the bullpen. All the best to Kirby Yates. I think this is his second TJ.
