  1. Yeah and they don't have the excuse of being wracked with injuries. Only regular out is Travis. Just not a very good team right now. It seems they are collectively cracking under the pressure, knowing that their season probably hangs in the balance of what they do between now and the break.
  2. Nice way to end the game with an exclamation point by striking out the side. My only criticism is the Jays offense again went dormant after getting up a few runs. I wish they could keep it rolling and bury the opponent, not let them hang around with a chance to get back in it.
  3. Tulo has grounded into double plays at a rate of 3.9% of total ABs. This is comparable to Morales (4.4%) and Bautista (4.0%). Unfortunately the Jays are continuing their habit of being one of the teams that lead MLB in GDPs, currently with the most this season (81) followed by Boston (77) with Atlanta and Houston tied at 75. I guess it goes with the territory of having a lot of guys that hit the ball hard and are not fleet of foot.
  4. Yeah definitely a must win and no excuse not to score some runs since they are facing a lefty they are very familiar with and who has " pitched to a 7.81 mark over his past six starts". Tomorrow looks pretty good too with Jimenez and his 7.26 ERA versus Happ.
  5. yeah very classy departure. He left that message from the Tweet (stay in the fight) above his emptied locker for his now ex-teammates.
  6. I think they need a lot more than K Rod to fortify that bullpen for a deep playoff push.
  7. He may not have known how he would do and was hesitant to go out there thinking it may affect his performance. But now that he has had an excellent outing, his thoughts on it may have changed. It's not like he has been struggling. In fact he has been going through probably his best stretch to date in his career.
  8. It's hard to say. It may be that once he gets out there on the mound, that could be the one place where the general anxiety is pushed back in his mind while he is focused on the task at hand. Probably it depends how much of the anxiety is job related.
  9. Nice job by Osuna. Was great to be able to give him this opportunity to get out there in a low leverage situation, and hopefully he will be be good to go moving forward.
  10. I think it's best to keep the ethnic/race-related put downs off of this public forum. While you and the guy on the receiving end may be fine with it, some of us don't appreciate it.
  11. Nice day for Bautista. Up to 4 RBI now.
  12. Giving the Royals a taste of their style of offense
  13. Walked in a run. I'll take it. But need 2-3 more here.
  14. If it makes you feel any better, Liriano entered this game with a worse ERA than Hammel. But yeah Hammel has been bad today but Jays not capitalizing.
  15. Finally made Hammel pay for his garbage pitching. Keep it rolling boys!
  16. Yeah too bad he had a bad at bat there in the 3rd.
  17. Hammel has been making a lot of mistakes in the middle of the zone but Jays haven't been able to take advantage yet. Even Donaldson swinging through fat pitches.
  18. Beliveau, Leone and Grilli. Grilli should really just retire and save the Jays from having to release him. He could leave with at least a shred of his dignity remaining.
  19. I think I would take Eric Gagne over Grilli right now. Grilli needs to be gone ASAP - Rogers promotions be damned!
  20. I am going to predict the Jays remain under .500 and then FINALLY win to get to .500 in game 162 to finish 81-81.
  21. Yeah no excuse for that with the hitters that made that bottom of the 9th. I really feel it is a sign that this is just not our year
  22. Yeah he is actually hitting better right-handed so far this season. BUT tonight is the game you should go with your A lineup to win, since tomorrow doesn't look so promising with the struggling Estrada facing off against Vargas.
  23. Yeah should have waited to sit Smoak for tomorrow with the tough lefty Vargas due to pitch that one.
  24. Looks like they may have decided to give him a look due to his base running ability (11 SB, 1 CS in 60 games at AAA). That speed should also translate to good range in the OF.
